Recently, Hyundai reported its sales figures for 2023, showing positive signs. At the end of 2023, the car manufacturer’s sales reached over 4.2 million units, a 6.9% increase compared to the previous year (over 3.9 million units).

According to Hyundai representatives, the company plans to improve its production process in 2024. Specifically, Hyundai aims to successfully manufacture over 4.2 million units in 2024, with over 3.6 million units for export.

Kia also ended 2023 on a high note, with global sales increasing by 6.3% compared to 2022, reaching over 3 million units. In South Korea, Kia sold 538,822 units, a 4.6% increase compared to 2022. The company also saw a 6.7% increase in its exports compared to the previous year.

According to Kia’s plans, the car manufacturer expects to produce over 3.2 million units globally in 2024. This includes 2.63 million units for export and 530,000 units for domestic delivery.

Although both manufacturers have not mentioned anything about designing and launching new models during this period, images of the upgraded version of the Hyundai Tucson have already been leaked in South Korea. In addition, according to many sources, the small electric car model “Casper EV” is predicted to be released in the European market soon.

Furthermore, information about the production of the Hyundai Ioniq 7 has been circulating on various forums and social media platforms. This suggests that Hyundai’s most anticipated electric vehicle may be launched in the market this year.

Kia is also in the final stages of production for the upgraded versions of the Kia K5, Sorento, and Carnival. Additionally, the company has announced plans to soon introduce new electric car models under the Kia brand, including EV3, EV4, and EV5. Therefore, depending on the market, Kia will complete the introduction and sale of its new range of green vehicles in 2024.

In Vietnam, according to the latest sales report, Hyundai also achieved a sales figure of 56,606 units in the past 11 months. Compared to the same period, this represents a decrease of nearly 30,000 units, equivalent to a 30% decrease in sales for the Korean car manufacturer in the Vietnamese market.

However, these numbers are sufficient for Hyundai to lead the overall automobile market in terms of sales, and also position the company to become the best-selling brand in Vietnam in 2023. Last year, Hyundai also brought the Ioniq 5 electric car model to Vietnam, with prices ranging from 1.2 to 1.3 billion Vietnamese Dong.

Meanwhile, Kia Vietnam recorded a sales figure of 36,035 units after 11 months, surpassing Ford to become the third best-selling car brand in the market after Hyundai and Toyota. There have been many rumors about the launch of the Kia EV6 in Vietnam, but information about this electric car model is still unclear.

Many people believe that 2024 will be an appropriate time for the company to introduce its first electric car model to Vietnamese consumers.
