In 2024, car enthusiasts in Vietnam are excited about the journey of Porsche owners driving through multiple countries, covering a distance of 35,000 km from Ho Chi Minh City to Germany where Porsche is based. In this journey, businessman Nguyen Quoc Cuong, also known as Cuong “Dola,” has confirmed his participation with two cars – the Porsche 911 Sport Classic and the Porsche Cayenne.
However, the plan for this journey is uncertain. Recently, the husband of Dam Thu Trang has made a new plan. This time, the driving route will be approximately 3,000 km from Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore. What makes it interesting is that they will participate in the famous Gumball 3000 event and Formula 1 racing.
This journey will take place from September 14th to September 22nd, 2024. Notably, this year, the Gumball 3000 event will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a special route, starting from the Pyramids of Egypt to Singapore, featuring the F1 race track. Along the way, there will be iconic stops including Sharm El-Sheikh, Wadi Rum, Amman, Bangkok, Phuket, and Langkawi.
It is unclear which cars Cuong “Dola” will bring for this supercar journey, and whether Hoang Kim Khanh or Minh “Nhua” will participate with their impressive cars such as the McLaren Senna, Koenigsegg Regera, Pagani Huayra, or McLaren Elva.
In Cuong “Dola”‘s current car collection, the most expensive car is the Ferrari SF90 Spider, an officially imported convertible model with an estimated price of over 50 billion VND. Compared to the four Ferrari SF90 Stradale cars previously imported to Vietnam, the Ferrari SF90 Spider has the advantage of a retractable roof that takes just about 14 seconds to open or close. On the coastal road of Ho Tram, Cuong “Dola” can enjoy the wind by opening the roof of this supercar while driving at a recommended speed of below 50 km/h.
The Ferrari SF90 Spider owned by the couple Dam Thu Trang and Cuong “Dola” is equipped with a V8 engine with a capacity of 4.0 liters and twin-turbocharging, accompanied by 3 electric motors. This is the first commercial convertible Ferrari with a plug-in hybrid powertrain and currently the most powerful Ferrari with a V8 engine.
To achieve this, in addition to the gasoline engine providing 769 horsepower, Ferrari engineers have conducted research to give the car an additional 217 horsepower from the electric motor. With the hybrid powertrain, the Ferrari SF90 Spider has a maximum power output of 986 horsepower. With this immense power, the Ferrari SF90 Spider takes just 2.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h.
Can you guess which Porsche supercar is hidden under this cover? Prices range from $2.5 million to $3.5 million.
The sight of Trung Nguyen’s rescue vehicle carrying a covered luxury car with the Porsche logo on it, travelling from Ho Chi Minh City to Dak Lak, has captured the attention of many people. They are curious about what kind of car it is. Some speculate that it could be a Porsche sports car, while others believe it may be a supercar priced anywhere from $2.5 million to $3.5 million.
