Despite the fast development of the electric car market, many people still have doubts about this type of vehicle.

According to a survey by Zenith, an electric car rental company based in the UK, over half of electric car owners (51%) still also own a traditional gasoline car. In addition, only 18% of drivers use electric cars for trips longer than 100km. About 3/4 of dual car owners stated that they have no intention of completely switching to electric cars.

The lack of public charging stations is the main reason why drivers are still hesitant to use electric cars for long trips. Moreover, the actual range of electric cars always has a certain deviation compared to the manufacturer’s announcement, which makes many people feel insecure.

On the other hand, the survey also revealed that 75% of electric car owners said they will not go back to gasoline cars. This means that these people use electric cars as their main mode of transportation, while gasoline cars are only a backup option.

Among the 26 car models compiled in the report, the Kia e-Niro and Audi E-tron are among the top 5 most popular models. This shows that users tend to choose mid/large-size SUVs with high-capacity battery packs, even when they still have a backup gasoline car at home. Tesla is still the most popular brand, but the number of people choosing it has been decreasing due to the competition from a series of attractive electric car models from other major brands.
