Hyundai Grand i10: 480 cars

When it comes to the most popular A-segment car in Vietnam, the Hyundai Grand i10 cannot be overlooked. However, in January 2024, the sales of this model decreased by 48% to only 480 cars. With this result, the Hyundai Grand i10 continues to maintain its leading position in the segment. At the same time, the Grand i10 is the second best-selling model of the Hyundai brand, just behind the Accent.

Hyundai Grand i10

Although A-segment cars have lost their former glory, the Hyundai Grand i10 is still the top choice of Vietnamese people thanks to its fashionable design, sufficient equipment, and affordable price, ranging from 360 – 455 million VND for 6 versions. In addition, this model also has both sedan and hatchback versions for consumers to choose from.

This Korean-made car has notable features such as LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, fog lights, LED taillights, 14 – 15 inch wheels, electric/foldable/adjustable/turn signal integrated side mirrors, analog instrument cluster with a 5.3-inch TFT multi-information display, 8-inch infotainment screen, leather seats, 4-speaker audio system, and Cruise Control.

The Hyundai Grand i10 uses a 1.2L MPI petrol engine, producing a maximum power of 83 horsepower and a maximum torque of 114 Nm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission, depending on the version.

Toyota Wigo: 84 cars

The second-ranked model in the A-segment car segment in terms of sales continues to be the Toyota Wigo with 84 cars sold, a decrease of 71%. This is the model with the highest sales decline in the segment.

Toyota Wigo

Returning to the Vietnamese market in June 2023, the Toyota Wigo has a reasonable price, ranging from 360 – 405 million VND. In addition to the price and reputable brand, the Toyota Wigo stands out with rare safety features in the segment such as Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA). These are the safety features that the two competitors in the same segment do not have.

The Toyota Wigo is powered by a new 1.2L petrol engine, combined with a 5-speed manual or a dual D-CVT automatic transmission. This engine delivers a maximum power of 87 horsepower and a maximum torque of 113 Nm.

Kia Morning: 68 cars

The Kia Morning is the model with the lowest sales decline in the A-segment car segment, with a 32% decrease to 68 cars. However, with this modest sales figure, the Korean-made car still ranks last in the segment.

Kia Morning

The Kia Morning currently has 6 versions and prices ranging from 349 – 424 million VND, cheaper than the Hyundai Grand i10. However, the Kia Morning has less equipment compared to its “compatriot” with only Halogen headlights and lacking a cruise control system.

In addition, the car also features LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, electric/foldable/adjustable/turn signal integrated side mirrors, 14 – 15 inch wheels, analog instrument cluster with a multi-information display, leather seats, 8-inch touchscreen, 4 – 6 speaker audio system, and automatic air conditioning.

The Kia Morning is powered by a 1.25L Kappa petrol engine, delivering a maximum power of 83 horsepower and a maximum torque of 120 Nm, paired with a 4-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission.
