Despite not being equipped with a V6 engine, the Ford Everest Platinum is expected to have a price tag of up to 1.7 billion VND. This price is considered high and difficult for customers to access.
Recently, Ford Vietnam has confirmed the launch of the Everest Platinum, along with releasing teaser images of a part of the car’s design. At the moment, most authorized dealers nationwide have started accepting deposits for this SUV model. However, contrary to previous rumors, the latest information from sales consultants states that the Ford Everest Platinum in Vietnam will not be equipped with a 3.0L turbocharged V6 engine like in foreign markets.
Instead, the car will be equipped with a 2.0L twin-turbo diesel engine, similar to the Titanium+ or Wildtrak versions, with a maximum power of 210 horsepower and a maximum torque of 500Nm.
Despite not having a V6 engine, Everest Platinum is still expected to have a price tag of up to 1.7 billion VND. This figure is considered quite high compared to the average price of regular D-segment SUVs, even higher than models in the segment above such as Hyundai Palisade (1.469 – 1.589 billion VND).
Dealers said that the Ford Everest Platinum will officially launch in May. Compared to the Titanium version, the Platinum version can be easily distinguished thanks to its 21-inch wheels and grille details. Other exterior equipment is almost identical to the Titanium version, including matrix LED headlights, LED fog lights…
Inside, the Ford Everest Platinum impresses with its 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, premium leather material, ventilated seats, heated seats for both front and rear rows. Other equipment is the same as the Titanium version, including a 12.4-inch screen behind the steering wheel, a 12-inch vertical entertainment screen integrated with SYNC4, electronic gearshift, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, panoramic sunroof.
In terms of driving assistance technology, the Everest Platinum is likely to have no differences compared to the Titanium version. Existing safety features on the Everest include emergency brake, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, intelligent headlights, blind spot warning, automatic parking assist feature, and 360-degree camera.
Ford Everest is currently distributed in 5 versions, priced from 1.099 – 1.499 billion VND. Last year, it was the best-selling model in the D-segment SUV/Crossover segment with 9,960 units sold, followed by the Hyundai Santa Fe with 6,418 units.
