Recently, French automaker Peugeot has officially released a short video clip revealing the first interior images of the new generation 5008 model.
According to various sources, both the Peugeot 5008 2024 and the electric E-5008 version have similar interiors.
The video clip shows that the new generation 5008 model is equipped with an i-Cockpit display system with a screen size of up to 21 inches on the dashboard. This screen is a combination of a digital instrument cluster and a touchscreen display in the center.
Behind the screen, there is a prominent LED lighting system that creates a “floating” effect for the screen on the dashboard surface.
The car also has a sporty flat-bottom steering wheel with a GT logo underneath as a focal point. All the seats in the car appear to be wrapped in premium leather or faux leather.
Currently, the French automaker has not revealed much information about the car, only knowing that the Peugeot 5008 2024 will be developed based on the Stellantis STLA Medium platform, which is shared with the new Peugeot 3008.
The design of the car is expected to be similar to the 3008 but with a higher ground clearance as it is positioned in the compact SUV segment rather than the coupe-style SUV like the 3008.
Providing power for the Peugeot 5008 2024 in the European market could be a mild hybrid powertrain system, including the PureTech 1.2L petrol engine, a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and a 48V electrical system. This turbocharged petrol engine combined with a small electric motor provides a total output of 134 horsepower and a torque of 230 Nm.
The pure electric version of the Peugeot 5008 2024 may have three different drivetrain options.
The first is a front-mounted electric motor providing 210 horsepower and 343 Nm of torque. Along with a 73 kWh battery pack, it offers a range of up to 500 km per charge.
The second option is a more powerful electric motor with 227 horsepower and a 98 kWh battery, allowing the car to travel up to 700 km per charge.
The highest-end version may have two electric motors with a total output of 321 horsepower and 509 Nm of torque, along with an all-wheel drive system.
The car is equipped with a 98 kWh battery pack, and the full charging time with a fast charger of 160 kW takes less than 30 minutes. In addition, the car is also equipped with a convenient two-way charging system.
According to the plan, the new generation Peugeot 5008 will be officially unveiled in August this year. However, the car may also be launched earlier in March at the Peugeot E-Lion Day event.
