In 2024, the Vietnamese car market is predicted to boom compared to the previous year. This year, the domestic market will welcome a series of new mass-market models. Among them, the majority are high-riding models from various brands like Toyota, Haval, Tank, Skoda, Volkswagen, Ford, or Suzuki.

Now let us introduce the mass-market car models that will be launched in Vietnam this year.

Suzuki Jimny

According to the plan confirmed by the leaders of Suzuki, the small-sized SUV Jimny will officially launch in the Vietnamese market in March 2024. The Jimny in Vietnam will be a 3-door version and will be completely imported from Japan with limited quantities.

Earlier, Suzuki Jimny has started to be displayed at dealerships and offered for test drives. Unfortunately, the official price of this SUV has not been announced yet.

Suzuki Jimny

The Suzuki Jimny in Vietnam is equipped with a straight-4 petrol engine, with a capacity of 1.5L, producing a maximum power of 75 kW (about 100 horsepower) at 6,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission and a 4-wheel drive system. This is also the engine currently used for the Suzuki XL7.

The exterior, interior, and safety features of the Suzuki Jimny are quite basic. However, the car has a true SUV body frame, front/rear suspension system with coil springs, approach angle of 37 degrees, departure angle of 49 degrees, and 4-wheel drive system AllGrip 4WD with fast and slow modes, promising impressive off-road capabilities.

Ford Everest Platinum

In March 2024, the Vietnamese car market will not only welcome the Suzuki Jimny but also the newcomer Ford Everest Platinum. This is the top-of-the-range version of the Ford Everest lineup and is expected to replace the previous Wildtrak version.

Car dealerships in Vietnam have started to accept deposits for the Ford Everest Platinum and the estimated price is up to 1.7 billion VND. If this price is accurate, the Ford Everest Platinum will be approximately 200 million VND more expensive than the Wildtrak version (1.499 billion VND). At the same time, the Ford Everest Platinum will become the most expensive D-segment SUV in the Vietnamese market.

Ford Everest Platinum

According to some sources, the Ford Everest Platinum in Vietnam will not have the 3.0L V6, turbocharged diesel engine like the overseas models. Instead, the car will still use the 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine with a capacity of 2.0L, similar to the Everest Titanium+ and Ranger Wildtrak. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 4-wheel drive system.

Ford Ranger Stormtrak

Not only the Everest, the Ford Ranger line will also have a new addition in March 2024, which is the Stormtrak version. Positioned as the top-of-the-range version of the Ford Ranger lineup (excluding Raptor), the Stormtrak will replace the previous Wildtrak version.

Car sales consultants at dealerships in Vietnam have started to accept deposits for the Ford Ranger Stormtrak. The official price of this version in Vietnam has not yet been announced, but it may be higher than the Ford Ranger Wildtrak (979 million VND).

Ford Ranger Stormtrak

The highlight of the Ford Ranger Stormtrak lies in the roof luggage rack and the movable sport bars on the cargo bed. In addition, the car features a pair of integrated auxiliary lights on the front grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, and a range of black exterior details.

The engine of the Ford Ranger Stormtrak is still a 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine with a capacity of 2.0L, similar to the Wildtrak version, producing a maximum power of 210 horsepower and a maximum torque of 500 Nm. The engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and a 2-wheel or 4-wheel drive system.

Volkswagen Teramont X

Toyota Corolla Cross

According to sales consultants at dealerships, the Toyota Corolla Cross 2024 for the Vietnamese market will no longer have the standard G version, but only the V and HV versions will be retained.
