In Vietnam, the Mercedes-AMG G 63 is no longer a rare car as the number of imported units, both private and official, has reached about 100 with various colors and different versions, including limited editions such as the Edition 55 (commemorating 55 years of AMG), 40th Year Of Legend (commemorating 40 years of the G 63 series),…

While most Vietnamese elites choose black or white paint, a Hanoi elite dares to be different by buying a bright red G 63. This is a color rarely seen on the G-Class in our country. What’s more, the owner spent about 1 billion VND to upgrade the exterior with many expensive accessories.

First is the Brabus widebody package. According to Mr. Nguyen Tien Hoang – owner of SunCar tuning company, the cost for this package is nearly 200 million VND due to the many details made of carbon fiber instead of using composite materials.

The front of the car receives a new front bumper with larger air ducts and angular design, along with horizontal LED light strip for added visual appeal. The “three-pointed star” logo is replaced by the black Brabus logo with red font, similar to the exterior color scheme of the car. The bonnet also features additional ribbed accents, adding a more aggressive look to the car.

Similarly, the rear of the car also gets a new, more simplistic rear bumper from Brabus, with two fake air vents and a air intake. The “G 63” badge is replaced by the “BRABUS” lettering and the “700” emblem, marking this tuning package. The spare wheel compartment cover is also replaced, and there is a rear spoiler on the roof to enhance the sporty look.

The wheel arches on the front and rear are expanded to the sides, integrating glossy black fake air vents for a eye-catching look. Below this detail are small lights that illuminate when the door is opened, providing lighting in the dark for stepping up/down.

The carbon fiber details include the grille surround, bonnet bulge trim, front turn signal surround, LED cluster covers on the bonnet, rear spoiler, and spare wheel compartment cover.

However, the most expensive upgrade that this Hanoi elite made to the G 63 AMG is the black matte finish multi-spoke Brixton Forged wheels, with a size of 23 inches. Inside, the wheels stand out thanks to the red AMG brake calipers. These wheels cost over 500 million VND in Vietnam, equivalent to the price of a new B-segment sedan.

The stock exhaust system originally only produces low tones, so the owner chose to upgrade to an iPE (Innotech Performance Exhaust) exhaust. This exhaust is less popular on the G 63 compared to Akrapovic or FI Exhaust, but it produces a louder and more powerful sound. The owner spent over 200 million VND on this upgrade.

The interior remains unchanged and was not upgraded with the Brabus package, as the cabin already features a sporty combination of red and black. In addition, the owner also purchased a range of carbon fiber options such as the steering wheel, tap-pi, instrument cluster trim, handle on the passenger side dashboard, control panel,… The rear seats have 3 seats and are equipped with entertainment screens.

The Mercedes-AMG G 63 is powered by a 4.0L twin-turbo V8 engine, producing a maximum output of 577 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque, combined with a 9-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive. This SUV can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.5 seconds before reaching a top speed of 240 km/h.

In addition to Brabus, many Vietnamese elites choose to upgrade with special and less common packages such as Hofele-Design, TopCar Design, Urban Automotive, MBS,… Some people even go a step further by gold-plating their cars, like the G 63 gold-plated car costing over 3 billion VND owned by an elite in An Giang province or the G 63 Edition 55 gold-plated car costing over 700 million VND owned by a Hanoi elite.
