The Chinese brand has just introduced the Yangwang U9 electric supercar model for the domestic market with a price tag of 1.68 million yuan (equivalent to 233,000 USD), which is over 100,000 USD higher than the expected price.

Powering the Yangwang U9 are 4 electric motors, each powering one wheel, with a combined output of 1,287 horsepower and a peak torque of 1,680 Nm. The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 2.36 seconds before reaching a top speed of 309 km/h.

Noteworthy about the Yangwang U9 is not only its power and performance. It is the first Chinese car to be equipped with a monocoque carbon fiber chassis and BYD’s special DiSus-X suspension system, allowing the car to bounce, move on three wheels, and even rotate like a tank due to its 4-motor structure.

The U9 continues to use BYD’s lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery technology; with an 80 kWh capacity, the car has a claimed range of 450 km (according to CLTC standards).

The car features an 800V design and can support DC fast charging up to 500 kW, supporting dual charging with 2 charging ports simultaneously, allowing the car to charge from 10 to 80% in just 10 minutes.

In terms of design, the Yangwang U9 features a sleek and sporty coupe style with sharp lines and angles. The daytime LED strip lights have an impressive design. The large rear air vent and 21-inch wheels not only contribute to aerodynamics but also add a muscular look to the car.

Meanwhile, the U9 interior is designed with a minimalist approach and modern display screens. In front of the driver is a mini-LED digital instrument cluster measuring 10.25 inches, while another vertically placed 12.3-inch mini-LED touchscreen is used for the infotainment system. The car is equipped with a 127-color interior ambient lighting system and a Dynaudio Evidence Platinum 12-speaker sound system.
