The most notable highlight of the 2023 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R is its engine. This is the only sport motorcycle in the world equipped with a unique 400cc 4-cylinder engine. This sets it apart from its sibling, the Kawasaki Ninja 400, which uses a twin-cylinder engine.
The 4-cylinder inline DOHC liquid-cooled fuel-injected EFI engine of the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R produces a maximum power of 75 horsepower at 14,500 RPM and a peak torque of 37.6 Nm at 12,500 RPM.
This engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, a 15-liter fuel tank, and is housed in a steel tube frame. The bike also features 4 riding modes: Sport, Road, Rain, and Rider. The Rider mode allows the rider to customize according to their preference.
The top-of-the-line variant comes with features such as an anti-slip clutch, electronic throttle valves, quick-shifting functionality, LED headlights/taillights, smoke-tinted windshield, a digital instrument panel with a 4.3-inch LCD screen, USB port, and smartphone connectivity.
In addition, it boasts the Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC) system, adjustable Showa BFRC-Lite monoshock with load adjustment, and a horizontally-mounted rear shock. The bike’s wheels have a diameter of 17 inches and are fitted with 120/70 front and 160/60 rear tires.
It is equipped with dual 290mm front disc brakes and a single 220mm rear disc brake. The seat height is 800mm, which is quite suitable for Asian riders. The bike weighs 188kg.
