The new Peugeot e-3008 has received a lot of praise from experts and enthusiasts alike, thanks to its impressive performance and stylish cabin. While some criticisms are limited to the average rear seat space compared to the Tesla Model Y, any potential customer who is still concerned about the rear seat space of the 3008 will soon have another option in the form of its bigger sibling, the e-5008, and its gasoline-powered counterpart, the 5008. Both models share the same Stellantis STLA Medium platform, but the 5008 duo benefits from an increased wheelbase, providing the option of a third-row seat.
Peugeot has given us a glimpse of those additional seats through a teaser video posted on social media this week, also revealing other interior details of the 5008, including the panoramic i-Cockpit dashboard. We have already seen a similar system on the 3008, where a 21-inch curved display is dedicated to the digital instrument cluster, and the other half houses the infotainment screen.
Only the new high-end 3008 versions feature the panoramic i-Cockpit system, while lower versions are equipped with a pair of 10-inch screens. A badge below the flat-bottom steering wheel (and on top of it) informs us that the car in the teaser video belongs to the luxurious GT version, equipped with leather seats.
We are still waiting to find out exactly what powertrain options will be used on the new Peugeot 5008 and e-5008. However, don’t be surprised if these powertrain choices are identical to the 3008, including a single electric motor with 207 horsepower or 227 horsepower and a dual electric motor with 316 horsepower. As for the gasoline-powered option, users can expect a 1.2L mild-hybrid engine along with a PHEV version. The Peugeot e-5008 2025 is expected to be launched in the coming months.
