Lexus has recently announced an upgrade to the NX model in its home market. Notably, it introduces the Overtrail version for off-road enthusiasts. The luxury crossover also comes with several new features, while improving the driving experience.
Unlike the impressive design of the Lexus GX Overtrail, the NX Overtrail is simpler with some exterior changes. The Japanese automaker equips it with 18-inch black wheels and off-road tires to enhance off-road capabilities. In addition, the ground clearance is increased by 15 mm. Many black details include the grille, door trims, handles, and mirror caps.
The Overtrail version is privileged with a dedicated mode. The vehicle’s adaptive variable suspension system reduces vibrations when driving on uneven surfaces.
Compared to the predecessor, the 2024 Lexus NX retains the same exterior design. The manufacturer only adds a new Sonic Copper color for the exterior and Hazel interior option. The L variant (long wheelbase) differs with body-colored mudguards and standard Solis White interior. The Overtrail interior has premium wood trim with eye-catching patterns.
Specifically, Lexus engineers have adjusted the suspension system of the NX 2024 to improve the driving feel and comfort for users, while increasing the chassis stiffness by adding additional bracing. The manufacturer also improves sound insulation to reduce engine noise entering the cabin.
Furthermore, the amenities of this model have changed. The 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system previously available on the NX 450h+ version is now standard on the lower NX 250 and NX 350h versions, replacing the 9.8-inch screen.
All versions now have illuminated door handles. The F Sport variant on the NX 350 and NX 350h uses LED headlights with automatic beam adjustment technology. Customers can also choose a panoramic sunroof when buying the NX 450h+ version.
The Japanese automaker has started accepting orders for the upgraded Lexus NX in its home market. The standard NX 250 2WD starts at 5.12 million yen (equivalent to about 800 million VND). The most expensive are the NX 450h and Overtrail AWD versions, priced at up to 7.725 million yen (equivalent to about 1.2 billion VND).
The Lexus NX made its global debut in 2014. Since then, the Japanese luxury carmaker has sold 1.42 million units in more than 90 countries, including Vietnam. Hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions account for over 56% of the crossover model’s sales.
In Vietnam, Lexus NX is officially sold with 4 versions and prices ranging from 2.56 to 4.71 billion VND. This model competes with rivals such as the Mercedes-Benz GLC, Range Rover Evoque, BMW X3, and Porsche Macan.
