Recently, the US Consumer Reports magazine released a survey on the most satisfying car brands in 2024. In total, Consumer Reports has enough survey data to rank 29 car brands in the US market. Brands that did not have enough user feedback, such as Ferrari or Aston Martin, were naturally excluded.
Here are the top 10 car brands that have satisfied American customers the most in 2024 according to the Consumer Reports survey.
Rivian
Rivian
Through the survey, Consumer Reports magazine found that American customers were most satisfied with the Rivian brand. This is an impressive result for a young electric car brand, established in 2009 like Rivian. According to the Consumer Reports survey, 86% of customers affirmed that they would buy Rivian’s two electric models, the R1T and R1S, again. In addition, the customer satisfaction score when owning a Rivian vehicle is 5/5.
Mini
Mini
Compared to last year’s survey results, Mini has improved by 11 places, rising to 2nd place in the top 10 car brands that satisfy American customers the most in 2024. Up to 77% of customers said they would definitely buy a Mini vehicle again.
BMW
The brand ranked 3rd in terms of customer satisfaction in the US this year is BMW. This is the 2nd brand of the BMW Group to make it into the top 10, after Mini.
BMW
BMW cars are no longer like they were in the late 90s and early 2000s. Instead, BMW cars now have a controversial exterior design. However, this does not prevent customers from loving BMW cars. According to the Consumer Reports survey, 76% of users affirmed that they would continue to buy a BMW vehicle if given the choice.
Porsche
Porsche
Like BMW, Porsche also had 76% of American customers saying they would choose the brand again if buying a car. However, Porsche ranks behind BMW due to alphabetical order.
Tesla
Tesla
Compared to internal combustion engine cars, electric cars may have more issues because they are equipped with new technologies. However, this does not prevent Tesla from making it into the top 10 car brands that satisfy American customers the most in 2024. According to the Consumer Reports survey, 74% of participants said they would buy a Tesla vehicle again. The biggest strength of Tesla electric cars is the widespread coverage of charging stations across the United States.
Genesis
Genesis
Many people believe that the dealership experience will reduce customer satisfaction during the ownership process. However, this is not true for the Genesis brand. Up to 73% of customers affirmed that they would still choose the luxury car brand from the Hyundai Group when buying a car next time.
Lexus
Lexus
Lexus certainly surpasses Tesla in terms of reliability and durability. However, when it comes to customer satisfaction in the US, Lexus is tied with Tesla and Genesis. The proportion of customers who affirmed that they would continue to buy a Lexus vehicle is 73%. At the same time, this is also the final brand in this top 10 with a customer satisfaction score of 4/5.
Subaru
Subaru
Most of the brands mentioned above are luxury cars. This is evidence for the saying “you get what you pay for”. However, there are still mainstream car brands that satisfy customers, with Subaru being a typical example. This Japanese brand has a customer satisfaction score of 3/5. At the same time, 70% of American customers affirmed that they would buy a Subaru vehicle again. Thanks to that, Subaru ranks 8th in the top 10 car brands that satisfy American customers the most in 2024.
Ram
It would be a mistake if no pickup truck brand made it into this top 10. Pickup trucks are a highly popular vehicle segment in the US market. Among those pickup truck brands, Ram satisfies customers the most.
Ram
Similar to Subaru, Ram is also a mainstream car brand. 69% of current Ram vehicle owners said they would continue to trust and choose this brand for their next purchase.
Honda
The “final spot” in the top 10 belongs to Honda – another representative from Japan. Like Ram, the proportion of customers who affirmed that they would buy a Honda vehicle again is also 69%. This is also the 3rd mainstream brand to make it into the top 10.
Honda
The remaining rankings include Chevrolet (69%), Toyota (69%), Hyundai (68%), Acura (68%), Ford (67%), GMC (67%), Mazda (66%), Volvo (66%), Lincoln (65%), Buick (64%), Kia (63%), Cadillac (61%), Chrysler (60%), Mercedes-Benz (59%), Audi (59%), Jeep (58%), Nissan (55%), Volkswagen (51%), and Infiniti (43%).
