Hyundai Custin and Versatile MPV Lineup Race for New Year Deals

The tightest segment in the Vietnamese car market after a tumultuous year of 2023 has quickly resumed the race for new price reductions to prepare for the year-end sales report. In which, popular models in the group like the Toyota Veloz Cross and Toyota Avanza Premio are applying many attractive promotional programs to stimulate consumer demand.

Toyota MPVs with tens of millions VND off

On the official website of Toyota Vietnam, the car manufacturer has announced an incentive program for some current high-riding models. Specifically, customers who order Toyota Avanza Premio and Toyota Veloz Cross and make payment in January will receive an additional gold insurance package from Toyota.

In addition to the manufacturer’s program, Toyota dealerships are also implementing some individual promotions for these 2 MPV models to clear stock for Lunar New Year. When contacting a Toyota dealership in Ho Chi Minh City, a staff member here said that the store still has a few Avanza Premio models in black and white, AT version. Customers who place orders from January 5th to January 31st will receive an additional VND 20 million discount in addition to the manufacturer’s promotion.

“The dealership only has 1-2 Avanza cars left, so we reduced the price around VND 20 million for Tet. However, the number of cars is limited and might run out soon, so customers should place orders now to get more benefits,” the staff member added.

According to the advisory staff, Veloz Cross is also being discounted an additional VND 5-10 million by dealerships to stimulate consumer demand for the new year. In addition, customers who order these 2 versatile MPV models in January will also receive accessories such as leather mats or a 360-degree camera as gifts.

“These are separate discount programs from the dealerships, usually due to the staff contributing additional commissions to retain customers, so they are not long-lasting. Each dealership will have its own discount rate, ranging from VND 10-30 million,” the person revealed.

Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid, XL7 with 100% registration fee discount

This month, 2 MPV models from Suzuki are also applying a 100% registration fee discount under the “welcome the joyful spring” program. Specifically, customers who order Suzuki Ertiga Hybrid in January will be supported with a 100% registration fee discount and receive a fuel coupon. The total value of incentives is around VND 70 million.

Suzuki XL7 is also discounted 100% registration fee. In addition, customers who purchase this MPV model will also receive 2 years of physical insurance and fuel coupon. Thus, the total value of XL7 incentives reached VND 140 million.

At the end of 2023, Suzuki Vietnam sold 3 units of Ertiga, 1,010 units of Ertiga Hybrid, and 2,526 units of XL7. The total sales of the 3 MPV models accounted for less than 7.7% of the segment’s market share.

Newcomers also receive big incentives

Hyundai Custin, a mid-range MPV from Hyundai, has also been applied with discounts of tens of millions of VND by many dealerships to attract customers. According to Tri Thuc – Znews, the discounted Custin models are all limited quantity remaining cars in 2023, with incentives ranging from a few million VND difference depending on the store.

Specifically, when talking to the consultant, the person said that the premium version of Hyundai Custin has been reduced by VND 40 million, down to only VND 959 million. This is also the deepest discount since this car model was launched in the Vietnamese market. The Standard and Special versions are also slightly discounted by dealerships ranging from VND 18-25 million.

Thus, after applying the promotion, the price of Hyundai Custin is only about VND 825-959 million. In addition, customers will also receive a body cover insurance package and genuine accessories when ordering this MPV model at dealerships in January.

According to our observations, Honda BR-V is also deeply discounted by some dealerships in preparation for clearance before Tet. When exchanging with a staff member at the dealership, the person said that the store still has a few BR-V cars in G version in white, so they will offer a discount to push sales. The discount level was revealed to be about VND 30-35 million for customers placing early orders in January.

When contacting another Honda dealership in Ho Chi Minh City, the staff member said that the store will support 100% registration fee for customers who purchase the BR-V L version in January, equivalent to a VND 70 million discount.

“Honda BR-V currently has only a few cars in stock so the dealerships are offering big discounts to boost sales for the new year. Customers buying the G version will get a discount of about VND 40 million, the L version about VND 60-70 million depending on the color of the car. In addition, the dealership also offers body cover insurance and genuine accessories to all customers purchasing cars during the Lunar New Year period,” the staff member added.

With the series of promotional programs implemented in the first month of the year, it is predicted that the sales of the urban MPV segment will continue to grow strongly and be ready to compete with other car groups in the market.
