The Lexus RC has been around for almost a decade since 2014 and is slowly declining compared to its competing rivals. On the other hand, the Lexus LC is showing superior modernity and overall luxury in the market. However, Lexus is said to be developing a new model, which is intended to replace both the RC and LC according to a development strategy similar to Mercedes-Benz with the CLE model replacing both the C-Class Coupe and E-Class Coupe.
The new Lexus model still doesn’t have a name, but according to Best Car, the car will have a similar size to the LC. The V8 5.0L engine from the RC F and LC 500 will be discontinued, while the hybrid V6 3.5L powertrain from the LC will be retained and refined. Additionally, Lexus may introduce a special version of the twin-turbo V6 engine with a displacement of 3.4L, similar to the new Lexus GX and the Toyota Tundra 2024.
The expected transmission will be an 8-speed automatic, rear-wheel drive, although the possibility of introducing an all-wheel drive version is there.
Similar to the current RC and LC, the new model is expected to be a 2+2 coupe. Additional information suggests that their sources indicate that the car will have a youthful design and the possibility of a convertible variant is also being considered. This sporty model is expected to have a length of 4,800 mm, a width of 1,900 mm, a height of 1,350 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,870 mm.
Depending on performance, market positioning, and technology, the car may be priced higher than the current RC by one or two levels.
