Brabus is a popular tuning company in Vietnam, especially for the G-Class. The German tuning brand even appears on some models like the GLS or S-Class, but the cost is not high as they are not bought directly from the manufacturer.
This Mercedes-Benz S 450 is one of the few S-Class models in Vietnam that has been upgraded with the Brabus package. This car belongs to the W223 generation and is one of the first S 450 models imported from Germany before the official distribution switched to importing from Thailand.
According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phu – a representative of the tuning company, the cost for the Brabus package on this S-Class W223 is about 100 million VND ($4,300) and it takes 5 days to complete the installation.
In its stock form, the design of the S 450 features many smooth lines and aims for luxury. The Brabus bodykit on this luxury sedan adds a sporty touch, making the car look more muscular while still retaining its inherent elegance.
The front end of the car stands out with a completely black grille, replacing the chrome bars and bright trims. The Multibeam LED headlights retain their original design. The front bumper is divided into 3 air intakes, with the side intakes featuring LED daytime running lights. Below the bumper, there is an extended lip, adding a more aggressive look to the car.
The rear of the car has a subtle change with a new diffuser, faux air vents, and a black trim. The single exhaust pipe has been changed to a dual exhaust, enhancing the aesthetic appeal. However, this tuning package does not add a rear spoiler on the trunk lid.
The “Mercedes-Benz” logo at the front of the car remains the same, but there is an additional “Brabus” logo on the hood. This logo also replaces the three-pointed star emblem at the rear of the car. The trunk lid features the “S 680” badge instead of “S 450” and adds the word “Brabus”.
The original 19-inch dual-tone multi-spoke wheels of the car have been upgraded to larger Brabus wheels, measuring 20 inches and painted in black, creating a unified look for the entire vehicle.
The interior of this Mercedes-Benz S 450 is mainly covered in premium brown leather, with carbon fiber pattern accents on the dashboard and center console. The W223 S-Class has eliminated most physical buttons, integrating them into the 12.8-inch central touchscreen. Behind the steering wheel is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
The rear seats accommodate 3 passengers, with a foldable armrest. There is a detachable tablet-like screen on the armrest, used to control some basic functions. As this is the 4Matic Luxury version, there is an optional executive seat available on the right side for the owner.
The car is equipped with the high-end Burmester 3D surround sound system, which features 15 speakers. The owner has upgraded it to rotating speakers – a premium option often seen on Mercedes-Maybach models.
The Mercedes-Benz S 450 W223 imported from Germany is powered by a 3.0-liter inline-6 engine, paired with the EQ Boost mild hybrid system. The total power generated by this powertrain is 367 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The power is sent to all four wheels through a 9-speed automatic transmission. As a result, the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h.
