The Vietnamese car market has been sluggish since the beginning of 2024, prompting car manufacturers and dealerships to continuously offer incentives and discounts to boost demand. Nissan is no exception.
In March 2024, Nissan Vietnam is offering a 100% exemption on the registration fee for the high-end Kicks e-Power V variant, which has a listed price of VND 858 million. This means that Vietnamese customers will save up to VND 86 million when registering this model.
Furthermore, dealerships are also offering a cash discount for this compact SUV. The total value of incentives for the Nissan Kicks e-Power, excluding accessories, currently amounts to a record-breaking VND 200 million.
It’s worth noting that these incentives only apply to the Nissan Kicks e-Power models manufactured in 2023 (VIN 2023). The models with VIN 2024 have not yet arrived at the dealerships.
Currently, the high-end V variant is the only available version of this compact SUV in Vietnam. The reason for this is that since the end of 2023, Nissan has stopped importing the standard E variant of the Kicks e-Power to Vietnam.
With all the discounts, the final selling price of the Nissan Kicks e-Power is only VND 658 million. Compared to the high-end variants of its competitors in the same segment such as the Hyundai Creta (VND 699 million), Kia Seltos (VND 714 million), Mitsubishi Xforce (VND 680 million), and Toyota Yaris Cross (VND 750 million), the Nissan Kicks e-Power offers a significant price advantage.
In the compact SUV segment in Vietnam, the Nissan Kicks e-Power stands out thanks to its unique hybrid powertrain. Specifically, this Nissan model features e-Power technology, which includes an electric motor, a lithium-ion battery, an inverter, a gasoline engine, and a generator. The electric motor of the Nissan Kicks e-Power generates a maximum output of 136 horsepower and a peak torque of 280 Nm. The gasoline engine is a 1.2L, 3-cylinder DOHC with 12 valves, producing a maximum power of 82 horsepower and a peak torque of 103 Nm.
The aforementioned gasoline engine doesn’t function as the main propulsion for the vehicle, but rather serves as a generator to charge the battery. The electric motor is responsible for the propulsion. This powertrain allows the Nissan Kicks e-Power to operate like an electric car without the need for charging and with exceptional fuel efficiency. The fuel consumption in urban areas for this compact SUV is only 2.2 liters per 100 kilometers.
In addition to its fuel-efficient engine, the Nissan Kicks e-Power is equipped with features such as LED headlights, 17-inch alloy wheels, power-folding/heated/turn signal-integrated side mirrors, zero-gravity front seats, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple Carplay support, and 2 USB ports.
The safety features of the Nissan Kicks e-Power are slightly behind some of its competitors, with only 6 airbags, cruise control, electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, traction control, hill start assist, drowsiness warning, and a 360-degree around-view camera with moving object detection.
