Unveiling the Hyundai Ioniq 5 2024: Increased Battery Capacity and New N Line Edition

Hyundai has recently released the first information and images of the upgraded version of the Ioniq 5 in the Korean market. In the new version, this electric car model has increased battery capacity and range, along with minor design and equipment changes. Furthermore, the car is also supplemented with a new N Line version.

The first highlight of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 2024 in the Korean market is the increase in battery capacity from 77.4 kWh to 84 kWh. As a result, the range after a full charge of this electric car is also longer. However, the specific range of the new Ioniq 5 has not been announced by the Korean automaker.

Next is the exterior of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 2024 with changes such as a narrow grille between the headlights and new front/rear bumpers. The wheels of the car are also redesigned to be more muscular, while the rear spoiler is extended by 50 mm.

In addition, Hyundai has slightly increased the size of this mid-size electric SUV. The length of the car has increased by 20 mm to 4,655 mm, while other dimensions remain the same, including a width of 1,890 mm, a height of 1,605 mm, and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.

Furthermore, Hyundai has made other improvements such as additional shock absorbers, reinforced rear fenders/doors/B-pillars, and increased soundproofing for the rear motor compartment. These changes contribute to better driving experience, comfort, and quietness for this Korean electric car.

Even the safety features of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 2024 have been updated with 8 airbags, including side airbags for the rear seats, a driver’s hand-off detection feature, front/side/rear collision avoidance support, and an intelligent front lighting system. Systems such as lane keeping assist, remote parking assist, digital key, and dashboard camera have also been added to the second generation.

Inside the car, Hyundai has improved the versatility and convenience of this electric model. The center control unit can be moved up/down, named Universal Island, and is equipped with mechanical buttons to access commonly used features such as front seat heating/cooling, a heated steering wheel, and parking assist. The wireless smartphone charger has been repositioned for easier use.

In addition, the steering wheel has a new design and integrates buttons to adjust the lighting system interactively. The buttons for the infotainment and air conditioning systems have also been upgraded for easier use.

The car’s infotainment system has been upgraded to the next generation and features software updates via Wifi. Lastly, the second-row seats have an additional remote-controlled power-folding feature.

Another change for the Hyundai Ioniq 5 2024 is the new N Line version, serving as a more affordable alternative to the high-performance N version. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Line 2024 features sportier front/rear bumpers, side skirts, and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Similar to the exterior, the interior of the N Line variant also follows a sporty direction with a different steering wheel and dashboard, metal pedal set, black ceiling, sport seats with “N” logo, and red stitching.

According to the plan, the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 5 N Line will be officially sold in the Korean market in March. The selling price of the car has not yet been announced.
