In 2023, 1,895,240 Audi vehicles were delivered to customers. This is an impressive number for the German brand, achieving a growth rate of 17.4% compared to 2022.

However, Audi’s product lineup is still missing a large SUV model, comparable to the Mercedes-Benz GLS or BMW X7. According to the plan, Audi will introduce the Q9 SUV model in 2025 to compete evenly in this segment.

Based on the captured images, the design of the Audi Q9 is gradually being perfected with the brand’s new design language. The strong lines are replaced with rounded design, similar to the Q6 model dedicated to the Chinese market. The headlights and taillights are also designed to be thinner, and may feature separate daytime running lights and main lights.

Information about the Q9’s operating system is still kept secret. According to the new naming system, odd-numbered models will be equipped with internal combustion engines combined with hybrid technology, while even-numbered models will be fully electric.

Some sources predict that the Q9 will be available with mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain options. The highest-end variant may switch from a V8 engine to an I6 engine.

The launch of Audi’s Q9 is quite delayed compared to competitors such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW, which introduced the full-size GL/GLS and X7 SUVs in 2006 and 2018 respectively. When launched in 2025, the Audi Q9 could be in production until 2033, the time when the brand completely ends the production of internal combustion engine vehicles. The estimated price range for the Audi Q9 is around $90,000 to $100,000.
