Since the beginning of March 2024 until now, car manufacturers have continuously launched discount programs to stimulate demand. Skoda, a brand from the Czech Republic, has chosen a different approach.

Skoda has introduced a promotion called “An tâm khám phá” (Peace of Mind Exploration), which includes:

  • Extended warranty for 5 years or 150,000 km;
  • Free maintenance for 3 years or 45,000 km;
  • Other special offers.

The promotion officially applies from March 1, 2024, to all new car models purchased at authorized Skoda dealerships nationwide.

Currently, Skoda distributes 2 car models in Vietnam, which are Karoq and Kodiaq. Karoq is a C-segment SUV, while Kodiaq is positioned in the D-segment SUV market.

Both Skoda Karoq and Kodiaq in Vietnam are imported from Europe. Therefore, these two models have relatively high prices in their segments.

Skoda Karoq is priced from 999 million to 1.089 billion VND, competing with Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5. Meanwhile, Skoda Kodiaq competes with Hyundai Santa Fe and Mazda CX-8, with prices ranging from 1.189 to 1.409 billion VND.

Skoda Kodiaq in Vietnam is currently offered with 2 engine options. The first one is a turbocharged engine with a capacity of 1.4L, maximum power of 150 horsepower, and maximum torque of 250 Nm. This engine is paired with a 6-speed wet clutch automatic transmission. It is also the same engine used for Skoda Karoq in Vietnam.

The second engine option for Skoda Kodiaq in Vietnam is a turbocharged 2.0L gasoline engine, with a maximum power of 180 horsepower and maximum torque of 320 Nm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed wet clutch automatic transmission, integrated with paddle shifters on the steering wheel and 4-wheel drive system.

The common highlight of Skoda Karoq and Kodiaq lies in their masculine and robust designs, along with adequate comfort and safety features. However, due to the brand’s unfamiliarity and the prices not being sufficiently attractive, these two models still face challenges in convincing Vietnamese customers.

For this year, Skoda has planned to launch 2 compact car models in Vietnam. It is predicted that these 2 models are Skoda Kushaq and Slavia. Kushaq is a B-segment SUV, while Slavia belongs to the B-segment sedan market. As they will be assembled domestically, these 2 models are expected to have more affordable prices.
