After more than 1 month of suspending the distribution of Avanza Premio manual transmission version, Toyota Vietnam announced the resumption of sales for this model starting from January 26th.
The decision to resume the sale of Avanza Premio MT is based on the guidance from Toyota Group, and the Japanese automaker has also reported to the regulatory agency in Vietnam.
Earlier in December, Toyota Vietnam suspended the distribution of Avanza Premio MT due to irregularities in the vehicle certification procedures by Daihatsu Japan. According to the announcement, Avanza Premio MT had a modification that did not comply with the emission and fuel consumption testing requirements in foreign countries. However, this modification does not affect the safety and quality of the car.
The Japanese automaker stated that Avanza Premio MT sold in Vietnam complies with the testing regulations and is certified to meet the standards according to Vietnamese standards.
After being resold, Toyota Avanza is distributed in Vietnam with 2 versions: MT and CVT, with a price range of 558-598 million VND. In 2023, Toyota Vietnam delivered a total of 3,783 Avanza cars.
