Earlier this year, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, the General Director of Haval Vietnam, revealed plans to launch 2 new models, one of which is the Haval Jolion, the younger sibling of the H6 currently available in Vietnam.
Now, sales consultants at dealerships have disclosed the timing of the Haval Jolion’s launch in Vietnam. The vehicle will officially debut in the Vietnamese market in April 2024.
At present, the sales consultants at the dealership in Vietnam have also started accepting deposits for this model. The Haval Jolion for Vietnam is expected to be fully imported from Thailand, just like the H6.
According to rumors, the Haval Jolion in Vietnam will come in both petrol and hybrid versions, similar to the ones in the Philippines. The petrol version will use a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged engine, producing a maximum power of 141 horsepower and a peak torque of 220 Nm. This engine will be paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The Haval Jolion in Vietnam is rumored to come in both petrol and hybrid versions.
In the hybrid version, the Haval Jolion will feature a 1.5L 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, an electric motor, and a 7-speed wet dual-clutch automatic transmission. This powertrain will generate a maximum power of 186 horsepower and a peak torque of 375 Nm. The average fuel consumption of the vehicle is expected to be around 23.8 km/liter (approximately 4.2 liters/100 km).
The Haval Jolion’s large dimensions set it apart in the B-segment SUV category.
In addition to its exterior dimensions, the Haval Jolion is also expected to offer a spacious interior. The vehicle will measure 4,472 x 1,841 x 1,574 mm (length x width x height) with a wheelbase of 2,700 mm. As a result, it will have the longest wheelbase among B-segment SUVs in Vietnam, surpassing even the Toyota Corolla Cross.
The Haval Jolion comes with a range of convenient features.
In terms of safety, the two versions of the Haval Jolion in Thailand differ significantly. The base variant only comes with basic safety features such as 4 airbags, cruise control, electronic parking brake, temporary brake hold, reverse camera, hill start assist, hill descent control, tire pressure monitoring system, driver distraction warning, and automatic post-collision braking.
Meanwhile, the Ultra variant adds more advanced safety features such as adaptive cruise control, emergency autonomous braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, reverse collision warning, 360-degree camera, 6 front parking sensors, and 6 rear parking sensors.
The price of the Haval Jolion in Vietnam is still unknown but rumored to be around 700 million VND. If this figure is accurate, the Haval Jolion will be priced higher than its competitors such as the Hyundai Creta (599 – 699 million VND), Kia Seltos (604 – 714 million VND), and Mitsubishi Xforce (599 – 680 million VND).
