In the Philippines, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is available in three variants: the GLS 2WD, GLS AWD, and Calligraphy, with prices ranging from PHP 2,410,000 to PHP 3,100,000 (equivalent to USD 51,000 – USD 65,000).
The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe was globally launched in July 2023, featuring a more angular design instead of the previous rounder shape. Many people have compared this new style to the Land Rover Defender. The manufacturer explains that this design change aims to provide users with a more practical SUV.
The standout feature of the new Santa Fe is its “H” shaped LED headlights, coupled with air vents and a square-shaped grille. In the middle of the grille, there is an additional strip of LED lights running horizontally, connecting the lighting cluster.
The specific dimensions of this model are as follows: length of 4,830 mm, width of 1,900 mm, height of 1,720 mm, and a wheelbase length of 2,815 mm. Compared to its predecessor, the 2024 Santa Fe is longer by 45 mm, taller by 20 mm, and has a 50 mm longer wheelbase. The muscular body of the car is enhanced by its wider wheel arches and sculpted lines. All variants of the new Santa Fe have three rows of seats and can accommodate up to 7 people.
The rear of the Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 has sparked a lot of controversy, with many individuals criticizing it for being too simplistic and not in line with the car’s angular design. The LED taillights feature an “H” shape similar to the lighting cluster, but the rear bumper lacks air vents and is completely flat.
Following the trend of many current car models, the new Santa Fe also simplifies the interior space. The air conditioning vents are horizontally hidden along the surface of the dashboard, creating a spacious cabin feel. Physical buttons have been reduced and integrated into the 6.6-inch touchscreen display in the center. The gear lever has been moved to the steering column, creating additional space for two wireless phone charging pads.
Even the center armrest can be opened from the second-row passenger seats. The passenger-side storage compartment in the front and additional features such as UV-C sterilization for personal items, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, etc.
Other notable features include dual 12.3-inch screens that serve as a digital instrument cluster and touch-screen infotainment display. This system supports wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connections, along with Bluetooth, smart voice recognition, and a 6-speaker sound system.
All variants come with leather upholstery, with the Calligraphy version featuring luxurious Nappa leather. The second-row seats can be folded 60:40, while the third-row seats can be folded 50:50. Last but not least, the Santa Fe is equipped with 6 USB ports, 12 cup holders, and 4 water bottle holders.
In the Philippines, the 2024 Santa Fe offers two engine options. Powering the GLS 2WD and AWD variants is the Smarstream 2.5L 4-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 194 PS of power at 6,100 rpm and a maximum torque of 246 Nm at 4,000 rpm. This engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
On the other hand, the range-topping Calligraphy AWD variant is equipped with a more powerful 2.5L turbocharged engine, producing 281 PS at 5,800 rpm and a maximum torque of 422 Nm at 1,700 – 4,000 rpm, mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The GLS variants come with 20-inch wheels, while the Calligraphy version uses 21-inch wheels.
