Today, on March 12, 2024, TC Group has announced the sales results of Hyundai brand for February 2024. In the past month, Vietnamese people purchased a total of 2,033 Hyundai cars, a decrease of 43% compared to the previous month. February 2024 was during the Tet holiday period, so it is not surprising that Hyundai car sales saw a significant decline.

In the past month, no Hyundai passenger car model sold more than 400 units. Even the popular Hyundai Accent only achieved a sales figure of 365 units, a decrease of 60.1% compared to January 2024. However, Accent remains the best-selling Hyundai model in Vietnam in February 2024.

The second best-selling Hyundai model is the Grand i10, with a sales figure of 263 units, a decrease of 45.2%. Meanwhile, the third position belongs to Hyundai Creta with a 42.3% decrease in sales to 238 units.

Creta is also the only Hyundai model to have sales of over 200 units in February. Other popular Hyundai models had disappointing sales figures, such as Venue (147 units), Santa Fe (132 units), Custin (127 units), and Tucson (117 units).

In addition, there were Hyundai models with sales figures below 100 units, including Elantra (76 units), Stargazer (55 units), and Palisade (47 units). Commercial vehicles from Hyundai achieved a sales figure of 466 units in February 2024, a 30.2% decrease.

Hyundai car sales in February 2024 (in units)

Hyundai hopes that after the Tet holiday period, the Vietnamese automobile market will stabilize, leading to sales growth in the coming months.

Recently, Hyundai reduced the list prices for its popular B-segment SUV model, Creta, to between 599 – 699 million VND. The previous price range for this model was 640 – 740 million VND. With the new pricing, Hyundai Creta is expected to improve its sales performance in March.

In addition, Hyundai plans to introduce a new model, Stargazer X, in Vietnam in March 2024. This is a sportier version with additional features of the small-sized MPV Hyundai Stargazer. The introduction of the new version is expected to enhance the competitiveness of this 7-seater MPV in the same segment.

All Hyundai dealerships have started accepting deposits for the new Stargazer X. The official prices have not been announced yet, but it is expected to be around 695 million VND for the Special edition and 750 million VND for the Premium edition. Hyundai Stargazer X in Vietnam will be imported as a completely built-up (CBU) unit from Indonesia.
