The fourth generation of the Mitsubishi Outlander model has been on the market for 3 years, which means that the mid-life facelift is currently in development. While waiting for the facelift version, Mitsubishi has introduced a brand new top-of-the-line GSR variant for the Australian market.
The new Outlander PHEV GSR stands out with its skid plate, Dynamic Shield grille, mirror covers, window garnish, roof rails, and fog lamp garnish all finished in black. Additionally, the vehicle is equipped with black 20-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out lettering on the hood, and a unique GSR emblem on the trunk. Furthermore, the premium variant also offers two exclusive two-tone color options, Red Diamond and Black Mica.
The interior is designed in a dark color scheme, combined with contrasting silver stitching on the dashboard, door trim, and seats, along with black headlining and leather seats. The cabin accommodates 7 seats, just like other premium variants of the Outlander.
In addition, the list of equipment is also generous, including a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch infotainment screen, a premium Bose 10-speaker sound system, heated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and an advanced MI-Pilot driver assistance system.
However, there are no changes to the plug-in hybrid powertrain. This system delivers 248 horsepower and a maximum torque of 450 Nm from a 2.4L engine and two electric motors. The vehicle is equipped with the Super-All-Wheel Control (S-AWC) system. The 20 kWh lithium-ion battery pack allows the vehicle to travel approximately 84 km in pure electric mode.
Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV GSR 2024 will be available at dealerships in Australia this month with a starting price of AUD 73,790 (USD 48,631).
