In order to contribute to the improvement of education quality in the transportation field, while also working towards Honda’s global Carbon Neutrality goal and the Government of Vietnam’s goals, HVN is supporting the University of Transport and Communications with 70 electric PCX motorcycles to provide a more favorable environment for teachers and students in their practical research and application of new technologies.

In collaboration with Green Mobility Vietnam, the electric motorcycles will be used for the project “Evaluation of the Effectiveness of the Green Transportation Model with Electric Motorcycles”, researching the process of transitioning to electric motorcycles in urban transportation.

The project is implemented through three operational models: Experimenting with the use of electric motorcycles in connecting public transportation and ridesharing (passenger transport from residential areas to public transportation points, encouraging the use of public transportation); Intra-urban express delivery; Researching the demand for personal electric motorcycles.

The project aims to evaluate the advantages as well as barriers in the use of electric motorcycles in transportation and delivery services. This will serve as a premise to promote and expand the use of green vehicles in the community. Additionally, the research findings from the project will be incorporated into teaching and learning materials for students within the university.

As part of the collaboration efforts, HVN and the University of Transport and Communications have also established a Scientific Research Fund to partially support the funding for research projects focused on environmental protection by the faculty and students of the university.
