List of the top 10 best-selling cars in Vietnam in February 2024 (in units)
In the past month of February 2024, the highest-selling car in the entire Vietnamese market was the Ford Ranger with sales reaching 880 units. Compared to January 2024, the sales of this pick-up truck model declined by 23%. Not only leading the overall market, the Ford Ranger also maintained its position as the number one in the pickup truck segment in Vietnam. In March 2024, the American-made Ranger will have a new version called Stormtrak, whose improved appearance and features will further strengthen the competitiveness of the Ford Ranger.

The second best-selling car in the overall market in the past month was the Mitsubishi Xpander with 641 units sold, a 50.1% decline. Perhaps this is one of the rare months where this small MPV model sold fewer than 1,000 units in Vietnam. With this result, the Mitsubishi Xpander lost its number one position in the overall market to the Ford Ranger. However, the Xpander remains the “sales king” of the Mitsubishi brand and the MPV segment in Vietnam.

The third position in the top 10 belongs to the Honda City with 640 units sold, an increase of 32.7% compared to the previous month. This is also one of the few models that experienced positive growth in sales in February 2024. The impressive result helped the Honda City surpass the Hyundai Accent and Toyota Vios to become the leader in the B-segment sedan market. It also became the best-selling Honda model in the past month.
Honda City
Similar to January 2024, the Mazda CX-5 continues to hold the fourth position in the top 10 best-selling cars in Vietnam. Specifically, this model achieved sales of 600 units, a 25.6% decrease. However, the Mazda CX-5 remains the best-selling C-segment SUV in the Vietnamese market.

In fifth place is the Kia Sonet with sales of 428 units, a decline of 39.7% compared to January 2024. However, this South Korean model still dominates the sales in the A-segment SUV segment.
Kia Sonet
Hyundai Accent occupies the sixth position with a drastic sales decline of 60.1%, down to 365 units. The significant drop in sales caused the Hyundai Accent to lose its leading position in the B-segment sedan market to its competitor, the Honda City. However, the Hyundai Accent still remains the best-selling Hyundai model in Vietnam in February 2024.

The seventh position is occupied by the Ford Everest, another member of the Ford brand. In the past month of February, this mid-size SUV sold 351 units to Vietnamese customers, a decrease of 55.2%. Similar to its sibling, the Ranger, the Ford Everest leads its segment in terms of sales and outperforms its competitors.

Like Ford, Honda also has 2 representatives in the top 10 best-selling cars in Vietnam in February 2024, including the City and HR-V. While the City occupies the third position in the top 10, the Honda HR-V is in eighth place with 282 units sold, a decline of 64.7%. This is the second consecutive month that the Honda HR-V is listed in the top 10 best-selling cars in the market and leads the B-segment SUV market in Vietnam.

The next position in the top 10 belongs to the Kia Carnival. With 268 units sold, this large MPV experienced a decline of 20.9%. This is the second MPV in the top 10, alongside the Mitsubishi Xpander. Moreover, the Carnival is the second Kia model to appear in the top 10, following the Sonet.

At the bottom of the top 10 is the Hyundai Grand i10 with sales of only 263 units, a decline of 45.2%. With this result, the Grand i10 is the best-selling car in the A-segment and ranks second in the Hyundai family.

From the above top 10 list, it is noticeable that there is an absence of Toyota models. This is a rare occurrence in Vietnam in recent years. The reason is that in February 2024, no Toyota model had sales exceeding 200 units. The best-selling Toyota model in February 2024 was the Raize with sales of only 181 units. Meanwhile, the Toyota Vios, once known as the “national car,” reached sales of 170 units, a 73.9% decline compared to January 2024.
Honda Accord: 40 Years of Automotive Excellence
Looking at the Vietnamese car market right now and humorously comparing it, we will see Camry as a well-behaved young girl, not outstanding in every aspect but easily becoming the choice of the “other half”. Teana, on the other hand, is like a dignified and tranquil woman, full of courage. Meanwhile, Mazda6 is like a hot girl, quickly attracting and captivating anyone’s gaze from the first encounter. As for Accord – with the elegance and experiences of a U30 lady, even though she is always praised by everyone, she hides something “difficult to deal with” in the minds of the majority.
Top Best-Selling Imported Cars in Vietnam Today
According to the report by the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), the sales of domestically assembled cars reached 104,277 units by the end of August 2023, while the sales of imported cars reached 80,277 units. This result indicates that imported car models still have a strong appeal to Vietnamese customers, even with the 50% reduction in registration fees for domestically assembled cars.
