According to Carscoops, the MG ZS has surpassed many other models in the Spanish market to become the best-selling car in December 2023.
Specifically, the sales volume of the MG ZS in Spain was 2,563 units in the last month of last year, surpassing the Renault Clio with 2,360 units and the Dacia Sandero with 2,289 units.
Below the top 3 best-selling cars in Spain in the last month of last year are Hyundai Tucson (2,087 units), Toyota Corolla (1,829 units) or Peugeot 2008 with 1,536 units.
Among these, the sales of the Renault Clio increased by 57% compared to December 2022 but still ranked below the MG SUV. In the opposite direction, the cheap Dacia Sandero recorded a 11% decrease in sales compared to the same period last year.
The Toyota Corolla is the best-performing model among the top 10 best-selling cars in Spain, with sales figures higher than the same period last year by 71%. The sales of the Toyota Yaris Cross also performed well in the last month, but this model has not yet made it into the top 10 most popular cars among Spanish customers.
In the Spanish market, the Dacia Sandero has a starting price of 13,200 EUR, equivalent to about 14,200 USD, while the Renault Clio has a starting price equivalent to about 17,400 USD.
The new MG ZS is priced between the two aforementioned competitors, with a starting price of about 15,900 USD, while the electric version of the SUV has a starting price in the Spanish market at 22,480 EUR (about 24,300 USD).

According to Autonews, the sales of the MG ZS increased by 11% in the last month of last year, marking 12 consecutive growth periods in sales since this SUV was introduced to Spanish customers.
MG’s sales performance in Spain is one of the reasons that has helped the octagonal logo brand become the 16th best-selling brand in Europe in the last month of 2023. According to Carscoops, the growth momentum of MG in the European market stems from the price advantage compared to its competitors.
In the Spanish market, MG is facing fierce competition from Peugeot as well as Volkswagen. While MG owns only the “trump card” ZS in this market, Peugeot and Volkswagen have diversity in their product range.
Notably, Seat – a subsidiary of Volkswagen – does not have any car appearing in the top 10 most preferred cars by Spanish customers. According to Carscoops, this shows the fierce competition in the European as well as the global car market.
Hybrid car sales in Spain increased by 24% in the last month of last year, while plug-in hybrid cars achieved a growth rate of 41%. Pure electric cars are the most booming group of cars in Spain when sales have grown by over 71%.

Honda Accord: 40 Years of Automotive Excellence
Looking at the Vietnamese car market right now and humorously comparing it, we will see Camry as a well-behaved young girl, not outstanding in every aspect but easily becoming the choice of the “other half”. Teana, on the other hand, is like a dignified and tranquil woman, full of courage. Meanwhile, Mazda6 is like a hot girl, quickly attracting and captivating anyone’s gaze from the first encounter. As for Accord – with the elegance and experiences of a U30 lady, even though she is always praised by everyone, she hides something “difficult to deal with” in the minds of the majority.
