On March 14, 2024, Volkswagen officially introduced its new car model called Teramont X to the Vietnamese market. Teramont X is actually the second Volkswagen model to be imported from China to Vietnam, following Viloran. Similar to Volkswagen Viloran, this car model is also a product of the SAIC-Volkswagen joint venture in China. At the same time, it is considered as the Coupe SUV version of the Volkswagen Teramont model that is currently being sold in Vietnam.
Volkswagen Teramont X has two versions: Luxury and Platinum, with prices of 1,998 billion and 2,168 billion VND respectively. Therefore, compared to the initial expected price, the starting price of this car model is cheaper. In addition, Volkswagen Teramont X is also much cheaper than its big brother Teramont, which has a price of 2,499 billion VND in Vietnam.

Developed based on the familiar MQB platform of Volkswagen, this car model can be considered as a more affordable alternative to the BMW X6 or Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe. Volkswagen Teramont X has dimensions of 4,917 x 1,989 x 1,729 mm (length x width x height) and a wheelbase of 2,980 mm. Compared to the Volkswagen Teramont, the car is 180 mm shorter and 48 mm lower.

Despite being cheaper, Volkswagen Teramont X has a more modern and stylish appearance than the regular Teramont. The highlight of this car model lies in the IQ.Light LED Matrix headlight system with a two-tier structure and 4 adaptive lighting modes, which can automatically switch and assist in blind spot illumination.

Next is the LED taillight cluster with a sharp 3D shape, high recognition value, and extending to the sides of the car. The trunk of the car is decorated with a chrome strip running horizontally, and it features hands-free opening/closing, anti-pinch function, and adjustable height.

On the side, in addition to the sloping roof in coupe style, Volkswagen Teramont X also features 20-inch alloy wheels for the Luxury version and 21-inch alloy wheels for the Platinum version. The wheels of the Platinum version have a sporty design with 5 spokes painted in glossy black, and they come with red sport brake calipers.

Furthermore, in the Platinum version, this Coupe SUV also has a series of glossy black exterior details, such as the grille, horizontal air vents in the front bumper, center air vent, front mudguard decorative strip, door trims, mirror caps, shark fin antenna, roof rails, taillight surround, spoiler, and rear bumper. Both the front and rear logos are integrated with hidden LED lights, enhancing the visual effect.
Inside the Volkswagen Teramont X, there is a 2-row 5-seater interior instead of the 7-seater layout in the regular Teramont. The rear cargo space of the car has a capacity of 540 liters or 1,719 liters with the rear seats folded.

In the Platinum version, the interior of this car model gives a premium feeling with two-tone leather seats. In addition, there are red accents on the steering wheel, door panel inserts, dashboard, and seats. The dashboard is also laser-engraved with the name of the car “Teramont X”.

In front of the driver is a 3-spoke R-Line leather steering wheel with integrated function buttons and a 10.3-inch color digital instrument cluster with 3 interfaces and 30 background colors. Above the dashboard is a 12-inch touchscreen display, which supports smartphone connectivity, Bluetooth, USB, and gesture control. This screen is combined with the Harman Kardon 12-speaker sound system with 1 subwoofer and a power of 700W in the Platinum version.

Furthermore, the car also features 8-way power-adjustable/heated/cooled front seats, 4-way power-adjustable lumbar support, 3-memory position for the driver’s seat, 3-zone automatic climate control with PM2.5 fine dust filtering function, 30-color interior ambient lighting, and panoramic sunroof. The rear seats are also equipped with heating function, center air vents, under-floor air vents, and individual charging ports.

The “heart” of the Volkswagen Teramont X in Vietnam is a turbocharged TSI 2.0L 4-cylinder gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 220 horsepower at 4,900 – 6,700 rpm and a maximum torque of 350 Nm at 1,600 – 4,300 rpm. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a 4Motion all-wheel drive system, allowing the car to reach a top speed of 200 km/h.

Similar to the convenience features, the safety equipment of the Volkswagen Teramont X is also quite rich. Specifically, the car is equipped with 9 airbags, a 360-degree camera, hill-start assist, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, park distance control, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, emergency brake assist, lane change assist, and cross-traffic alert when reversing.
When purchasing this car model, Vietnamese customers can choose colors such as red, black, gray, and white.
