Asia Road Racing Championship 2023

Prior to the start of the Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) 2023 season, Honda Racing Vietnam is determined to elevate its standing on the continent’s racing map with the goal of breaking into the top 10 in the rankings and achieving a minimum of 70 points in the AP250 category.

At the close of the ARRC 2023 season, Honda Racing Vietnam accomplished more by earning 93 points in the AP250 category, placing 7th in the team standings, while Cao Viet Nam (rider number 65 in the AP250 category) scored 87 points and finished 8th in the individual rankings.

Honda Racing Vietnam had the most successful ARRC season yet.

More importantly, confidence has returned to the entire team, from technicians to riders, all united and eager to propel Honda Racing Vietnam even further. It can be asserted that the current rider, Cao Viet Nam, and his “steed” Honda CBR250RR have the ability to compete for a top 3 position in the AP250 category.

In addition to Cao Viet Nam’s outstanding performances, the other three riders of Honda Racing Vietnam also had solid performances in the past season. Nguyen Duc Thanh (number 193) made his AP250 debut and earned 6 points. The duo Nguyen Anh Tuan (number 178) and Nguyen Huu Tri (number 111) completed the season in the UB150 category with 16 points and 2 points, respectively.

Malaysia Superbike Championship 2023

In the 2023 season, Honda Racing Vietnam also participated in the Malaysia Superbike Championship 2023 (MSBK). The aim of competing in the MSBK was to provide riders with more opportunities to compete at continental-standard race tracks. Cao Viet Nam, Nguyen Duc Thanh, Nguyen Ton Anh Phu, and Nguyen Huu Tri all competed and stood on the podium more than once.

Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup 2023

In 2023, Honda Racing Vietnam also had three riders, Nguyen Ton Anh Phu, Nguyen Vu Phuong, and Nguyen Huu Tri, participate in the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup 2023 selection round in early November at the Sepang circuit, Malaysia (considered the “nursery of Asian MotoGP riders”). In the end, Nguyen Ton Anh Phu made the top 10 reserve riders for the 2024 season.

Thailand Talent Cup 2023

As in previous years, Honda Racing Vietnam continued to send riders to participate in the Thailand Talent Cup (a talent search competition for young riders in Thailand) with Nguyen Ton Anh Phu (number 19) and Nguyen Vu Phuong (number 10). At the end of the season, Anh Phu and Vu Phuong earned valuable points and experience for the next stage.

It can be said that Honda Racing Vietnam had its most successful season in over 6 years of competing on the continental stage. The team restructuring, combined with technological advancements, enhanced training, and clear role allocation within the team, yielded positive results, and it is certain that the team will achieve even better results in the future.
