On June 20, the Vehicle Registration Department issued a recall notice for 19 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon cars in Vietnam to inspect and remove excessive frame pins.

Specifically, a total of 19 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon cars produced from March 2021 to October 2021 need to be recalled for inspection of the above-mentioned details.

According to explanations, the excessive pins on the frame of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon cars can come into contact with the fuel tank and cause scratches. In some cases, this can lead to fuel leakage and if it comes into contact with a spark source, there is a possibility of ignition and potential explosion.

To fix the above-mentioned issue, affected Jeep Wrangler owners are required to bring their vehicles to authorized dealerships of JVA Trading Co., Ltd – the official importer and distributor of Jeep vehicles in Vietnam – for free inspection and repair.

The estimated time for each car is about 30 minutes. According to the announcement, the recall period for Jeep Wrangler Rubicon cars in Vietnam started on June 15 and is expected to last until April 12, 2024.

In the recall notice, JVA also advises car owners to turn off the engine and contact them immediately if they detect fuel leakage.

During the waiting time for inspection and rectification, JVA also recommends limiting the use of the recalled Wrangler Rubicon models to ensure safety.

If they have to be used, the above-mentioned Jeep Wrangler owners are advised to carefully check before operation to ensure no signs of fuel leakage, and continuously monitor the indicator lights on the dashboard of the car and contact JVA for support when needed.

In Vietnam, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is currently priced at 3,888 billion VND and competes directly with the Land Rover Defender 90.
