Kia Sonet: 428 vehicles
In February 2024, Kia sold 428 units of the Sonet in Vietnam, a 39.7% decrease compared to the previous month. Despite the highest decline in sales volume in the A-segment SUVs, the Kia Sonet remained the leader in terms of sales. Additionally, this South Korean model ranked among the top 10 best-selling cars in the Vietnamese market in February 2024.
Kia Sonet
Recently, the Kia Sonet has consistently been the best-selling A-segment SUV in Vietnam due to its stylish exterior design, well-equipped features within the segment, and attractive prices ranging from 519 – 574 million VND for 3 variants.
In Vietnam, the Kia Sonet is equipped with notable features such as full LED headlights with automatic on/off function, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto support, automatic climate control with rear air vents, a sunroof, wireless phone charging, and a 6-speaker audio system.
The Kia Sonet is powered by the Smartstream 1.5L gasoline engine, delivering a maximum power of 113 horsepower and a peak torque of 144 Nm. The engine is paired with either the Smartstream IVT intelligent continuously variable transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission.
Toyota Raize: 181 vehicles
Similar to its competitor, the Kia Sonet, the Toyota Raize also experienced a decrease in sales volume in February 2024, with a 31.1% decline to 181 vehicles. This result pushed the Japanese model behind its South Korean counterpart, ranking second in the A-segment SUVs. However, the Raize became the best-selling Toyota model in the Vietnamese market in the past month.
Toyota Raize
The Toyota Raize is currently the most affordable A-segment SUV in the market, with a price of only 498 million VND. However, this model is only available in one variant, limiting customers’ choices.
In addition to its competitive pricing, the Toyota Raize also offers advantages such as a sporty exterior design, decent features, and a reputable brand. The car is equipped with LED headlights, 17-inch sporty alloy wheels, steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, push-button start, and automatic climate control.
Furthermore, this Japanese model stands out in the segment with safety features such as Hill Start Assist Control (HAC), Blind Spot Monitor (BSM), Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA), 4 front/rear parking sensors, and 6 airbags.
Under the hood, the Toyota Raize is powered by a turbocharged 1.0L gasoline engine, producing a maximum power of 98 horsepower and a peak torque of 140 Nm. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (D-CVT).
Hyundai Venue: 147 vehicles
The Hyundai Venue continued to be the trailing model in the A-segment SUVs in Vietnam in February, with sales of 147 vehicles, a 25% decrease. This model had the lowest decline in sales volume within the segment.
Hyundai Venue
The Hyundai Venue was introduced to the Vietnamese market in December 2023 with 2 variants and prices ranging from 539 – 579 million VND. In addition to similar pricing as its South Korean counterpart, the Kia Sonet, this model also carries characteristics of Korean cars such as eye-catching design and decent features.
The Hyundai Venue in Vietnam is equipped with LED headlights, 16-inch alloy wheels, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay support, USB Type-C charging ports, a 6-speaker audio system, push-button start, smart key, and automatic climate control with rear air vents.
The safety features of the Hyundai Venue are quite comprehensive in the segment, including 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill-Start Assist (HSA), rearview camera, rear parking sensors, tire pressure monitoring system, and automatic headlights.
Moreover, this model has a more powerful engine than its two rivals mentioned above. Specifically, it is equipped with a 1.0L inline-3 turbocharged gasoline engine, generating a maximum power of 120 horsepower and a peak torque of 172 Nm. The engine is combined with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a front-wheel-drive system.
