Those who are eagerly awaiting an electric pickup truck from Isuzu will not have to wait much longer. Just before the 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show, Isuzu unveiled the D-Max EV concept in Bangkok, Thailand.

Although advertised as a concept, the prototype displayed by Isuzu appears to be a thinly veiled production version. The overall look and design of the Isuzu D-Max EV Concept is reminiscent of the upgraded D-Max pickup truck released last year.

However, unlike the diesel-powered D-Max model, the electric concept pickup truck features a sealed front grille, combined with light blue accents on the front fascia and LED headlights. The vehicle is also equipped with alloy wheels and unique decals to emphasize that this Isuzu is emission-free.

The electric powertrain on the D-Max EV concept delivers 177 PS of power and a maximum torque of 325 Nm. While the turbo-diesel 3.0L engine delivers a more powerful output of 190 PS and 450 Nm, it’s worth noting that the electric D-Max has instant acceleration thanks to its electric motor. The vehicle is equipped with a 66.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, along with full-time 4WD and an “eAxle” differential.
