Porsche 911 Dakar is originally a limited edition sports car, with a style and configuration designed for off-road enthusiasts for a more thrilling experience. The Vietnamese tycoon currently owns 3 cars, of which 2 have been, are being, and will be participating in journeys across multiple countries. The remaining car is not inferior as the owner has recently used it for trips to the mountainous provinces in the North of our country.
According to Autodaily’s research, this is the second Porsche 911 Dakar in Vietnam. The car belongs to a secretive Saigon tycoon. The three cars that this tycoon has taken on a road trip in recent days are the 911 Dakar, Lamborghini Urus Performante, and RAM 1500 TRX. The value of this car fleet is worth more than 45 billion VND.
The most noteworthy one is still the Porsche 911 Dakar with the Shade Green Metallic paint color of the car. The paint color alone costs 176.4 million VND. The car also has the “Rallye 1974” racing decals, not available on the other two cars in Vietnam, which costs 270.8 million VND in the German car manufacturer’s optional list. The integrated roof rack with LED auxiliary lights also costs the car owner 250 million VND.
The “Rallye 1974” racing decals of this off-road sports car are inspired by the Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7 that participated in the East African Safari Rally in 1974. The car finished second in this race.
When the 911 Dakar of the Saigon tycoon came back to Vietnam, there were rumors that it was bought by Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu, as the coffee tycoon is known for his love for Porsche cars.
The powertrain of this off-road sports car is a 3.0-liter twin-turbo 6-cylinder engine, producing a maximum power of 473 horsepower and a maximum torque of 570 Nm. This off-road sports car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 240 km/h. The car uses an 8-speed PDK automatic transmission and Porsche’s all-wheel-drive system AWD.
The Porsche 911 Dakar was introduced to the global market at the end of 2022. In fact, this is the off-road version of the 911 model, developed from the 911 Carrera 4 GTS prototype to commemorate the German car manufacturer’s first overall victory at the Paris-Dakar Rally in 1984. Only 2,500 units were produced worldwide, of which Vietnam has received the distribution of 3 units.
The Lamborghini Urus Performante of the food industry tycoon is also remarkably unique, with an exterior color painted in Arancio Xanto orange, from the optional color chart. The car’s wheels are painted black, creating accents, with a 5-spoke Y-shaped design and a size of 22 inches. Some details on the exterior are made of carbon fiber, such as the hood, side panels, rear diffuser, front air splitter, etc.
Under the hood is a twin-turbo V8 engine with a maximum power output of 666 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque, coupled with a four-wheel-drive AWD system. The car can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 306 km/h. In Vietnam, the on-the-road price of this super SUV is up to 19 billion VND.
The orange-colored RAM 1500 TRX super pickup truck is also a rare vehicle in Vietnam, with a very limited quantity. The car is sold by the manufacturer with a starting price of 7.9 billion VND. This model uses a supercharged V8 engine with a displacement of 6.2 liters, producing a maximum power of 702 horsepower and a maximum torque of 881 Nm – more powerful than many supercars from Lamborghini, Ferrari, or McLaren.
