Recently, a video capturing scenes of a brand new Mitsubishi Triton undergoing testing in Vietnam has surfaced on social media. The video was taken on Thang Long Avenue, Hanoi, featuring a silver Mitsubishi Triton 2024 with temporary license plates and no camouflage. This indicates that the release of the car in Vietnam is not far off.

Currently, there is no information about the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 in Vietnam. Dealerships have also not started accepting bookings for this pickup truck model. However, from the video, it can be seen that the design of the car is no different from the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 in other Southeast Asian markets such as Thailand and the Philippines.

In the new generation, the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 has dimensions of length x width x height of 5,265/5,360 x 1,865/1,930 x 1,775/1,815 mm and a wheelbase length of 3,130 mm. Compared to the previous generation, the wheelbase of the car has increased by 130 mm. In addition, the ground clearance ranges from 203 – 222 mm, depending on the variant.
In addition to the new chassis, the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 also undergoes significant changes in terms of exterior design. With the new Beast Mode design, the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 looks more rugged with a rectangular grille and a two-tier headlight cluster. In which, the LED daytime running lights are located on the top and the main headlights are placed below.

Similarly to before, the premium Athlete version will have identifying features such as a unique Yamabuki Orange Metallic paint color. Standing out against the orange background are a series of glossy black exterior details such as the reversed “C” emblem on the front of the car, front/rear bumper guards, fender flares, mirror covers, door handles, alloy wheels, roof racks, and sports bars on the bed. The interior of the Athlete version also has a combination of two contrasting colors, black and orange.

Some notable equipment of the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 includes a 7-inch multi-information display, a 9-inch touchscreen center display, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, rear-seat air vents, power-adjustable driver’s seat, wireless phone charging, USB Type A/Type C ports, and a 4-way adjustable steering wheel.
The interior of the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 Athlete version
In the international market, the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 is available with 2 engine options. The first is a single-turbo MIVEC diesel engine with a displacement of 2.4L, producing a maximum power of 183 horsepower at 3,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 430 Nm in the rpm range of 2,250 – 2,500. The second option is a twin-turbo MIVEC diesel engine with a displacement of 2.4L, producing a maximum power of 204 horsepower and a maximum torque of 470 Nm in the rpm range of 1,500 – 2,750. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The Athlete version will have 7 driving modes, an electronic power steering system, and the Super Select II 4WD system, allowing switching from 2H to 4H. The remaining versions will only use hydraulic power steering and the Easy Select 4WD system.

The safety equipment of the car is also more diverse than before, with a 360-degree camera, 7 airbags, hill descent control, emergency stop assist, forward collision mitigation, blind-spot warning, lane change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and automatic headlights.
When it arrives in Vietnam, the Mitsubishi Triton 2024 will continue to compete with rivals such as the Ford Ranger and Toyota Hilux.
