The fourth-generation Suzuki Vitara is over a decade old, having first been introduced back in 2014. It received its first facelift in 2018, followed by the introduction of mild-hybrid tech in 2020 and a full-hybrid powertrain option in 2022.
The latest update for 2024 focuses on refreshing the exterior and making some technological advancements inside the cabin. Suzuki hopes these updates will help the Vitara remain competitive in the subcompact SUV segment for at least another few years.
Exterior tweaks for the 2024 Suzuki Vitara consist of a redesigned front fascia that looks cleaner thanks to a slimmer LED daytime running light signature and the omission of fog lights. It also boasts a revised grille and a larger central air intake with black surrounding accents.
The overall shape of the car has remained largely unchanged since 2014. Suzuki’s designers have added a new set of “aerodynamically shaped” alloy wheels and two new color options: Titan Dark Gray Pearl Metallic and Sphere Blue Pearl, abbinabile to a Cosmic Black Pearl Metallic black roof.
Moving on to the interior, the 2024 Suzuki Vitara gets a new 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display, but it can’t help the cabin from feeling dated. The interior looks like it’s straight out of the 1990s.
The new infotainment screen supports USB, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity, and it’s compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also adds the ability to remotely access certain functions of the car via the owner’s smartphone.
As with most Suzuki models in Europe, the Vitara has been equipped with a comprehensive ADAS suite, and the updated version features new and improved systems. Specifically, the subcompact SUV now comes with Dual Sensor Brake Support II, Driver Monitoring System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Lane Keep Assist.
Powertrain options, meanwhile, carry over unchanged, including both mild-hybrid and full-hybrid versions. The 1.4-liter turbocharged gasoline engine produces 127 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque, supplemented by a 48-volt system that adds an extra 14 horsepower. This powertrain is paired with a six-speed manual transmission, front-wheel drive, or all-wheel drive (AllGrip Select 4WD).
The other hybrid powertrain option combines a 99-hp 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with a 33-hp electric motor for a combined output of 115 horsepower, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The 2024 Suzuki Vitara will reach European dealerships starting from early summer, with pricing to be announced closer to launch.
