The Toyota Corolla Active Sport is offered in both sedan and estate (Touring Sports) body styles. The Active Sport trim level distinguishes itself from the regular variants with a redesigned front bumper that features faux air intakes on either side of a large central air intake. Additionally, it benefits from side skirts with Active Sport badging, piano black accents around its body, and new 17-inch black alloy wheels.
For the exterior color palette, it’s offered in White, Black, and Gray with an optional black roof. Furthermore, it gets an optional Active Sport badge on the trunk lid. Overall, the enhancements made to the exterior make the compact car look sportier than the standard models.
Inside the cabin, Toyota has added a pair of front sports seats that integrate headrests and bolsters. The seats are upholstered in synthetic leather with gray stitching and aluminum trim pieces contrast the otherwise black interior. Also included are aluminum pedals, while the Active Sport logo can be found on the floor mats.
Despite its sporty appearance, the Toyota Corolla Active Sport doesn’t come with any performance upgrades over the standard models. It retains the same 1.8-liter hybrid powertrain in both its 2WD and AWD (E-Four) guise. The only notable upgrade is made to the front-wheel-drive version, which gets a new suspension setup and optimized steering system for a more engaging driving experience.
In the Japanese market, the Toyota Corolla Active Sport carries a price tag ranging from 3,140,300 yen (equivalent to $20,703) for the 2WD sedan to 3,388,300 yen (equivalent to $22,343) for the E-Four Touring.
