2025 Chevrolet Colorado Facelift Debuts with New Design, More Powerful 2.8 Turbo-Diesel Engine

Despite the Chevrolet Colorado being discontinued in many Southeast Asian markets like Thailand and Vietnam, the mid-size pickup truck lives on in South America. Known as the Chevrolet S10 in Brazil, it has just received a facelift that brings noticeable changes to its exterior and interior.

Let’s start with the exterior where the front end gets a redesign and adds a few styling cues from the North American Colorado. It gets a new grille, revised air intakes, sleeker LED headlamps, and a faux skid plate is integrated into the front bumper. Depending on the variant, the accents on the grille can be had in different finishes such as chrome (High Country), black chrome (Z71), and body color (LTZ).

Other notable exterior bits include more sculpted fender flares, new alloy wheel designs for each variant, new LED taillights, revised tailgate, and a sport bar for the bed (exclusive to the 2025 Colorado Z71).

Moving inside, the interior of the 2025 Chevrolet Colorado looks more modern. It gets an 8-inch high-resolution digital instrument cluster along with an 11-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity. There are also more supportive and cushy seats for a more comfortable driving experience. The steering wheel also gets an upgrade and is now fatter and less wobbly compared to its predecessor.

Other notable interior features of the 2025 Colorado include automatic climate control, leather upholstery, remote engine start, front & rear center armrests, and a suite of smart driver aids.

Powering the truck is a revised version of the 2.8L Duramax turbo-diesel engine that now makes 204 PS and 510 Nm of torque, up by 4 PS and 10 Nm, respectively. Instead of a 6-speed automatic gearbox, the 2025 Chevrolet Colorado now comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission like its American counterpart.

The underpinnings may be over a decade old, but that doesn’t stop Chevrolet from making the Colorado handle better. This update sees the chassis getting retuned suspension, new dampers, and even a new steering column.

In the Brazilian market, the 2025 Chevrolet Colorado starts at BRL 281,900 (approx. USD 54,360).
