Recently, spy photographers have caught the prototype of the facelifted Hyundai Santa Cruz testing in the US. In this facelift, the Hyundai Santa Cruz gets significant design changes, adopting a more traditional pickup truck styling.
Specifically, Hyundai has reworked the front grille to look wider and more rugged. Along with that, the headlight cluster has also been tweaked. While the current version’s headlights are extended at the top, forming a V-shape, the facelift’s headlights are narrowed down towards the bottom, suggesting the grille will be more rectangular than the current version.
In addition, the unlit portions of the grille are also arranged in neater rows and appear to be larger. That suggests Hyundai is trying to give the Santa Cruz a more boxy, truck-like front end.
Moreover, the car is expected to get newly designed wheels which look more rugged. The rear of the car is heavily camouflaged, but it seems that the taillights on the facelift are quite similar to the taillights on the current version.
Given the interior updates on the new Tucson, it is likely that Hyundai’s pickup truck will also get the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and the 12.3-inch infotainment screen. It is not yet known when the Korean automaker plans to unveil the facelifted Santa Cruz, but it is likely to debut as a 2025 model.
