Kia has announced that the facelifted K5 will arrive in US dealerships in Q2 2024 with a starting price of $26,990, which is $1,400 more than the outgoing model.
The refreshed version features a redesigned front fascia with updated headlights. It also boasts a sportier rear end with a new trunk lid, a revised bumper, and sharper taillights.
Moving inside, the interior has been upgraded with a new 12.3-inch infotainment system that supports over-the-air software updates and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. There’s also a redesigned dashboard and center console with a larger cupholder and a wireless phone charger.
In terms of equipment, the base K5 LXS comes with LED headlights and 16-inch alloy wheels. These are paired with a relatively basic interior featuring cloth seats, a polyurethane-wrapped steering wheel, and painted accent trim. Other highlights include dual-zone automatic climate control and a six-speaker sound system.
Despite its budget-friendly price, the LXS still comes with a suite of driver assistance systems, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go. It also features Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance Assist, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Automatic Headlights, Safe Exit Assist, and more.
Moving up to the $27,990 K5 GT-Line, you get a sportier appearance with black accents and larger 18-inch alloy wheels. The upgrades continue inside with heated leather front seats that offer eight-way power adjustment for the driver.
Customers will also find a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a wireless phone charger, and chrome accents. This model also gains Highway Driving Assist and navigation-based Smart Cruise Control.
Next is the $34,490 K5 EX. This variant gets a more luxurious feel thanks to simulated wood trim and heated, ventilated, and power-adjustable leather front seats on both sides.
The upgrades don’t stop there as this high-end variant features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, and a heated steering wheel. Buyers will also find a 12-speaker Bose sound system as well as a Surround View Monitor and Blind-Spot View Monitor.
All of the aforementioned trims are powered by a new 2.5L four-cylinder engine that produces 191 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and optional all-wheel drive on the GT-Line.
Finally, there’s the $33,090 K5 GT, which boasts a sportier front bumper, green brake calipers, and a sport exhaust system. It also comes with a sport-tuned suspension, a unique steering system, and 19-inch alloy wheels. Additionally, it has steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and black leather sport seats with green accents.
The K5 GT gets a turbocharged 2.5L engine that produces 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive.
