Going Electric to “Plant” Thousands of Trees
Earlier this April, electric car and motorbike owners from VinFast shared their achievements in terms of the number of trees they have “planted” since using electric vehicles.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong (Hanoi), an electric car owner, quickly shared his screen showing that he had “planted” 241 trees and reduced 5.24 tons of CO₂ after driving his VF 5 Plus for 31,548 km. His post quickly attracted the attention of other electric vehicle owners, with many sharing screenshots of their own achievements.
It is understood that this feature called “Together for a Green Vietnam” was launched by the Vietnamese carmaker on April 4th, 2024 on the VinFast/VinFast e-scooter app. It allows users to track their CO₂ reduction and convert it into the number of trees “planted” corresponding to the distance traveled by their electric vehicles without emitting emissions like gasoline-powered cars.
“This feature gives users a sense of accomplishment or a goal that makes them more attached to their electric vehicles,” Mr. Cuong commented.
Vehicle owner Nguyen Khanh Hung said that not emitting emissions is equivalent to planting trees that absorb CO₂ (source: FBNV).
Also boasting an achievement of planting 206 trees and reducing 4.46 tons of CO₂ by using his electric motorbike, Mr. Nguyen Khanh Hung (Ho Chi Minh City), a Klara owner, believes that these numbers reflect the fact that electric vehicle owners do not emit harmful emissions into the environment when driving.
According to the Vietnamese carmaker’s calculations, for every 130 km traveled by an electric vehicle, owners contribute to reducing 21.7 kg of CO₂, equivalent to planting one tree.
The impressive tree-planting achievements of drivers who use their vehicles for commercial purposes have excited the online community (source: FBNV).
On vehicle forums, many people who use electric vehicles for transportation services reported that the number of trees they have “planted” amounted to thousands, which is equivalent to dozens of tons of CO₂ reduction. “After 150,000 km driving my VF e34, I have contributed to reducing more than 25 tons of CO₂, equivalent to planting 1,156 trees,” said a driver who uses his car for commercial purposes.
In fact, for people who are passionate about a green lifestyle and regularly use electric buses or taxis, converting the amount of CO₂ emissions reduced into trees is nothing new. Applications like VinBus or Xanh SM have this feature. However, the conversion and display on the VinFast/VinFast e-scooter app are more engaging because they include a personal touch.
“Watching the number of trees increase with every kilometer I drive brings me a real sense of joy,” said Mr. Hoang Thang, a car owner in Hanoi.
In addition to the conversion between tree planting and driving distance, the VinFast app also features a new interface that has received positive feedback. “No other car company has paid attention to the smallest emotions of its customers like this. Since owning a VinFast, my daily experience has been greatly enhanced,” Mr. Thang added.
Electric Vehicles are More “Affordable” Than Ever
Through its investment and thoughtful customer care approach, VinFast continues to demonstrate that electric vehicles are the best choice in every aspect, from economic efficiency to the daily driving experience. The company also regularly organizes unique sales campaigns to promote the transition to green mobility.
Earlier in March, VinFast launched the “Indomitable Vietnamese Spirit” campaign for the second time, offering customers the opportunity to own cars with ease. With the “three best” installment policy: the longest loan term – up to 8 years; the highest loan value – up to 70% of the vehicle price; and the most attractive interest rate – only 5% for the first 2 years, 8% for the next 3 years, and 8% for the last 3 years, buyers can own an electric car with monthly installments starting from only 5.2 million VND.
Customers can now easily own VinFast electric vehicles thanks to the latest policy.
In addition to the affordable initial investment, VinFast electric vehicles are also highly appreciated by owners for their economic efficiency during operation. For the same driving distance, electric vehicles have much lower energy costs than gasoline-powered cars in the same segment. Furthermore, thanks to their less complex structure, maintenance and repairs for electric cars are also much more cost-effective than for vehicles with internal combustion engines.
Besides investing in products, the user experience is also given top priority. VinFast owners can travel comfortably from the North to the South of Vietnam without worrying about charging thanks to the charging station network covering all 63 provinces, with a maximum distance between charging points on national highways of only 65 km. In addition, the Vietnamese carmaker is expanding its network of showrooms, dealerships, and service centers to better meet the future needs of customers and enhance the satisfaction of the car owner community.
