Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker Honri or Hongri Automobile Group, has officially introduced its Boma EV to ASEAN customers through the 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show. In its domestic market, the Honri Boma EV is priced from CNY 39,900 to CNY 51,900 (equivalent to USD 5,800 to USD 7,600).
With seating for up to 4 passengers, the Boma EV measures 3,517 mm long, 1,495 mm wide, 1,660 mm high, and has a 2,495 mm wheelbase. It has a ground clearance of 130 mm.
The Boma EV is powered by an electric motor that makes 40 horsepower and 84 Nm of torque, good for a top speed of 100 km/h. Range-wise, there are two nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) battery packs to choose from, with the 11.9 kWh battery pack providing a 130 km range, as per the CLTC standard.
The larger 18.5 kWh battery pack, on the other hand, is good for a range of 200 km. Charging capability details are still scarce but word has it that the battery supports standard AC charging with a full charge taking 10 hours.
In Thailand, the Honri Boma EV gets a 200 km range. In the future, a new variant with a 300 km range will be added to the Boma EV lineup.
The car has a grille that closely resembles the Toyota Alphard but in a closed-off fashion, halogen headlamps are present and are flanked by noticeable chrome accents.
Inside, the cabin features a basic layout with a 5-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. Standard safety features, as reported by Thai media, include ABS, EBD, and autonomous emergency braking.
