In addition to the collection of Aston Martin, Porsche or Ferrari cars with a total of up to dozens of cars, businessman Dang Le Nguyen Vu is also very fond of hunting for Maserati cars, the older and more unique the style, the faster he buys. He once bought back a Maserati Granturismo car that he sold, or is the owner of the rare Maserati Levante Trofeo Launch Edition car with a limited production of 100 cars worldwide.
It seems that he thought his Maserati fleet was still quite small, so when he heard that a Hai Phong tycoon was selling the fifth-generation Maserati Quattroporte luxury car, only 3 of which appeared in Vietnam, he quickly bought it back for his collection.
According to our findings, this Maserati Quattroporte is brown in color and after decades in the garage of the Hai Phong tycoon, it was officially transported to Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu’s car warehouse. When it arrived at this businessman’s private home, the car no longer had the legendary license plate 16N-3838, a small pair of land god license plates.
The fifth generation of the Quattroporte, codenamed M139, debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show on September 9, 2003 and debuted in the United States at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2003. The exterior and interior design was overseen by Ken Okuyama, Pininfarina’s chief designer. The final M139 Quattroporte was built on December 20, 2012.
Built entirely new on a platform called the M139, it is 50 cm longer than its predecessor and has a 40 cm longer wheelbase. The similar architecture would later form the basis for the GranTurismo and GranCabrio coupes and convertibles.
The Maserati Quattroporte was initially offered in only one configuration, fitted with an automatic paddle-shift gearbox, marketed under the name DuoSelect. The base Quattroporte DuoSelect had a chrome grille with horizontal bars, an adaptive suspension system, marketed under the name Skyhook, 330 mm brake discs with four-piston calipers at each wheel. Maserati offered a choice of 15 exterior paint colors, 10 Poltrona Frau leather upholstery colors, contrasting stitching and piping on the seats, and 3 types of wood trim.
The fifth-generation Maserati Quattroporte was produced from 2003 to 2012, with a total of 25,256 units produced worldwide. In Vietnam, only 3 cars have been recorded, in gray, brown and blue, which are very popular because they are bank liquidated vehicles.
The Maserati Quattroporte that Mr. Dang Le Nguyen Vu recently bought is the first generation and is equipped with a V8 engine, 4.2 liter capacity, producing a maximum capacity of 400 horsepower, maximum torque of 460 Nm. The Maserati Quattroporte takes only about 5.6 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h before reaching a top speed of 269 km/h.
