Stepping into a new generation, the 2024 Mitsubishi Triton boasts a larger body, a new turbodiesel engine, and an array of advanced safety and off-road features.

Dimension-wise, the all-new 2024 Mitsubishi Triton measures 5,360 mm long, 1,930 mm wide, 1,815 mm tall, and rides on a 3,130 mm wheelbase. This makes Mitsubishi’s pickup grow from the smallest in its segment to one of the largest. For comparison, the current-generation Hilux measures 5,325 mm long, 1,855 mm wide, 1,815 mm tall, and has a 3,085 mm wheelbase.

The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton is built on an all-new platform that increases the rigidity of the chassis frame, while also providing the flexibility to accommodate different body styles. Furthermore, the new Triton also features a revised suspension system. For hauling purposes, the 2024 Triton has a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tons.

Similar to its predecessor, the new Athlete variant adds black accents in place of the standard model’s chrome bits. It has a more boxy and muscular appearance.

The 2024 Mitsubishi Triton gets a T-shaped LED lighting signature for both the headlights and taillights. The front end has been expanded with a large, more upright grille. Meanwhile, the fog lights are now positioned on either side of the lower bumper.

The sides of the vehicle are relatively flat. It comes standard with a roof rack and a sport bar on the bed. Round the back, the new Triton’s rear end is also freshly designed, featuring two eye-catching L-shaped LED light bars that face each other.

Moving inside, the all-new 2024 Mitsubishi Triton features a cabin that has been upgraded in terms of both features and material quality. It has a new instrument cluster and a 9-inch floating infotainment touchscreen. Other interior highlights include a new steering wheel and a dual-zone climate control system.

Under the hood, the Athlete variant utilizes a new 2.4L 4N16 four-cylinder engine that produces more power than the outgoing 4N15. The new diesel engine now makes 204 PS and 470 Nm of torque in its highest state of tune. Meanwhile, mid-range variants make do with 184 PS and 430 Nm. For base models, the engine produces 150 PS and 330 Nm. Mitsubishi has transitioned to a 6-speed automatic transmission, while 4×4 variants get the Super Select 4WD-II system. Drive modes include Normal, Eco, Gravel, Snow, Mud, Sand, and Rock.

In terms of safety, the 2024 Mitsubishi Triton is equipped with the latest and most advanced safety features, including Mitsubishi’s Active Stability and Traction Control (M-ASTC) system, Hill Descent Assist, and Hill Start Assist, as well as ADAS systems such as Pedestrian and Cyclist Detection, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Driver Inattention Warning System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, Forward and Rear Automatic Emergency Braking, and Post-Collision Automatic Braking.

In Thailand, the 2024 Mitsubishi Triton is priced from 565,000 baht (USD 17,034) for the 2.4L Active Single Cab variant, and goes up to 1,298,000 baht (USD 39,038) for the Double Cab Athlete 4WD AT variant.
