Caught undergoing testing near the Nürburgring, the redesigned Audi Q7 features a reworked front fascia with a wider, shorter grille. The lighting system incorporates separate daytime running lights and low-positioned headlights. The designers have also given the SUV a more sharply raked hood and new mirrors that are now mounted near the base of the A-pillars.
Camouflage hides some of the specifics, but the SUV sports new bodywork with softer creases and flatter surfaces. Flush-fitting door handles, a steeply raked D-pillar, and a long glasshouse are visible. The new model will be both longer and taller than its predecessor.
The rear end is still under development, but we can see a more traditional liftgate as well as temporary taillights that hint at a boomerang-shaped design. An prominent spoiler and a modernized bumper further distinguish the back end.
Inside, the Audi Q7 will likely have an interior inspired by the Q6 e-tron electric vehicle. If so, expect to find an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14.5-inch infotainment system, and a 10.9-inch front passenger display.
The engine lineup is a mystery, but the Q7 will likely be one of the final Audis to offer internal-combustion engines as the German automaker looks to phase out ICE-powered vehicles by 2033. Expect a variety of mild-hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains to be offered.
