At an accessible price point, two new models from the British brand are predicted to reach the top of charts in the 400cc segment in the Vietnamese market.

Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X are the latest additions to Triumph’s highly successful Modern Classic family.

Triumph Speed 400 is a smaller version of the two popular models Speed Twin 900 and 1200. Meanwhile, Triumph Scrambler 400 X inherits the signature design characteristics of the Scrambler 900 and 1200.

Triumph powers the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X with a 398cc single-cylinder engine that is liquid-cooled, producing 39.5 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and torque of 37.5 Nm at 6,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

Both use tubular steel frames, LED lighting, an analog clock with an integrated LCD screen, 17-inch rear wheels, and 13-liter fuel tanks. Safety features include dual-channel ABS brakes, adjustable traction control, and a USB-C charging port.

The Triumph Speed 400 comes with 10-spoke 17-inch cast aluminum alloy front wheels, while the Scrambler uses 19-inch wheels. The front suspension is 43 mm inverted forks with 140 mm of travel for the Speed and 150 mm for the Scrambler. Both have adjustable gas-charged monoshock rear suspension with external reservoirs, traveling 130 mm on the Speed and 150 mm on the Scrambler.

Both are equipped with single-disc brakes. The Scrambler’s front disc is 320 mm, 20 mm larger than the Speed’s. Although the rear brake discs for both are 230 mm. The Scrambler’s weight is 179 kg, which is 9 kg heavier than the Speed’s 170 kg. The seat heights also differ, with the Speed measuring 790 mm and the Scrambler slightly taller at 835 mm.

A summary of the outstanding rider aids includes: Ride-by-wire throttle, switchable Traction Control, Bosch dual-channel ABS (switchable on the Scrambler 400 X), USB-C socket to charge a mobile device, slip-assist clutch, full LED lighting system and keyless immobilizer.

The official price of these two models are as follows: Speed 400 (from 169,9 million VND) and Scrambler 400 X (from 189,9 million VND). All prices are inclusive of VAT.
