Following Mitsubishi Xforce, Hyundai Creta, and Toyota Yaris Cross adjusting their listed prices in favor of Vietnamese customers, it is now Nissan Kicks’ turn to join the preferential race with a promotional value of hundreds of millions of dongs.

Specifically, the Nissan Kicks along with 3 versions of the Nissan Navara pickup truck are being offered a support program of 100% of the registration fee, plus 2 years of auto insurance. Information on the website of VAD, the Nissan car distributor in the Vietnamese market, shows that this offer can be converted into cash.

In addition to the incentives from the manufacturer, Nissan dealers in Vietnam also offer additional cash to customers who buy the Nissan Kicks V version, bringing the total preferential value for this electric gasoline-powered car model to 200 million VND. The March promotional program is applicable to vehicles manufactured in 2023, currently the Nissan Kicks vehicles with VIN 2024 have not yet arrived.

Thus, after the preferential price, the Nissan Kicks V version is priced at 658 million VND at the dealership. This price is considered more accessible than the Premium version of the Hyundai Creta (699 million VND), the Mitsubishi Xforce Premium version (680 million VND) or the Kia Seltos GT-Line and X-Line versions with Kia Connect Lite, which are priced at 719 million VND.

Nissan Kicks was officially launched in the Vietnamese market in early November 2022 and is positioned in the urban SUV segment, competing with Toyota Corolla Cross, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda HR-V, Mazda CX-3 and Mazda CX-30. Currently, this segment is becoming more crowded after the appearance of Toyota Yaris Cross, Mitsubishi Xforce, and the upcoming Omoda C5.

The Nissan Kicks is an electric car, but the energy comes from a 1.2L gasoline engine. Nissan calls this e-Power technology, which helps the Nissan Kicks achieve a fuel consumption rate of only 2.2 liters/100 km in the city. Similar to its co-branded models, VAD has not announced the sales figures for the Nissan Kicks in the Vietnamese market.

Last year, Hyundai Creta took advantage of the downturn of Toyota Corolla Cross in the final months of the year to surpass its rival and become the best-selling B-class SUV in the Vietnamese market. Hyundai’s urban SUV achieved total sales of 10,719 vehicles, while Toyota Corolla Cross closed 2023 with a total of 10,485 vehicles sold in Vietnam.

Moving into the first month of 2024, the Honda HR-V surprisingly ranked above its competitors in terms of consumption in the Vietnamese market. The Thai-imported SUV from Honda achieved sales of 801 vehicles, making it Honda’s best-selling car of the month and ranking 5th in the market in terms of consumption.
