Nissan Kicks 2025: A Comprehensive Revamp with Enhanced Performance and Capability

The all-new Nissan Kicks has undergone a significant redesign, receiving a host of improvements across the board. The latest iteration boasts a larger footprint, offering more spacious interiors and cargo capacity, along with a more powerful engine and the introduction of an optional AWD system to the Kicks lineup.

Powering the 2025 Nissan Kicks is a new 2.0L naturally aspirated inline-4 gasoline engine that generates a maximum output of 139 horsepower and 190 Nm of torque, a notable increase of 17 horsepower and 36 Nm compared to the previous-generation 1.6L engine.

The engine is paired with Nissan’s Xtronic (CVT) automatic transmission and comes standard with front-wheel drive or an optional all-wheel-drive system. The AWD setup is available on all trim levels and, when combined with the available “Snow” drive mode and 213 mm of ground clearance, enhances the crossover’s off-road capabilities.

Moving on to its exterior, the new-gen Nissan Kicks 2025 adopts a more angular and rugged design language compared to its predecessor. Drawing inspiration from the China-market Nissan Pathfinder, the front end features a prominent black grille integrated with horizontal LED headlights.

At the rear, the distinctive LED taillights seamlessly blend into a sweeping black surround, reminiscent of the iconic Alfa Romeo Milano of a similar size.

The subcompact crossover measures 4,366 mm in length, 1,801 mm in width, and has a height ranging from 1,626-1,631 mm. Interestingly, there is a slight variation in the wheelbase length, measuring 2,657 mm for the FWD variant and 2,664 mm for the AWD version.

Compared to its predecessor, the 2025 Kicks is 71 mm longer, 41 mm wider, and 20 mm taller, contributing to an improved on-road stance and a more spacious cabin.

The interior layout is characterized by a minimalistic approach, featuring a digital instrument cluster and a flat-bottom steering wheel. Base variants come equipped with dual 7-inch displays, while higher trims receive a larger 12.3-inch unit. The center console houses intuitive climate controls. Depending on the trim level, users can benefit from up to four USB-C ports, wireless charging, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

The 2025 Nissan Kicks lineup consists of three trim levels: S, SV, and SR. Additionally, buyers can opt for two Premium packages, which add features such as a panoramic moonroof and a Bose Premium audio system with 10 speakers, including headrest-integrated speakers for front-seat occupants.

All variants come standard with Nissan’s Safety Shield 360 ADAS Suite, which includes Intelligent Cruise Control. The top-spec SR trim gains the more advanced ProPILOT Assist system.

The Japanese automaker has yet to announce pricing for the 2025 Nissan Kicks, which is set to go on sale in the US and Canada in the coming months. Customer deliveries are expected to commence from late this summer.
