Xpeng has announced plans to commence sales in Germany from May with two models, the G9 SUV and the P7 sedan. The Chinese carmaker targets a three percent market share for new energy vehicles by the end of the year. Xpeng will be operational at 24 locations when sales of the two models commence. It aims to expand its presence to 120 retail locations in Germany by 2026. The Chinese company is also preparing for launches in France, Italy and the UK, aiming to enter each of these markets before the end of this year.

The Xpeng G9 will come in RWD Standard Range, RWD Long Range and AWD Long Range variants, priced at 57,600 euros (around 1.5 billion VND), 62,300 euros (around 1.67 billion VND) and 69,600 euros (around 1.9 billion VND) respectively.

The entry-level variant uses a 78.2 kWh battery pack and a single electric motor producing 308 hp. The mid-spec trim shares the same motor but gets a larger 98 kWh pack. The Xpeng G9’s AWD Long Range variant combines the 98 kWh pack with dual motors that produce a combined output of 543 hp, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.9 seconds.

The P7 sedan is smaller than the G9, and thus slightly more affordable. It will be offered in a single RWD Long Range configuration starting at 49,600 euros (around 1.3 billion VND), featuring an 82.7 kWh pack and 276 hp. There will also be an AWD Performance trim, which gets the same 82.7 kWh pack but with a motor output of 473 hp, and starts at 58,600 euros (around 1.5 billion VND). The range-topping P7 Wing Edition, priced at 69,600 euros (around 1.8 billion VND), gets the same powertrain as the AWD Performance but with Lamborghini-inspired scissor doors.

“The market launch in Germany marks a significant milestone for Xpeng, and we are very excited to gain a foothold in one of the most competitive automotive markets in the world. We are thrilled to invite our new customers to test drive and experience our G9 and P7, and see the quality of our cars for themselves. Thanks to our dealer network with established, EV-experienced partners in sales, service and parts supply, our models will be available for viewing and test drives at 24 retail locations across Germany,” said Markus Schrick, Managing Director of Xpeng Germany.
