B-Segment Sedan Sales in March 2024 (in units)

Honda City: 1,043 units

Similar to February 2024, in March, Honda City continued to be the “sales king” of the B-segment sedan. In March 2024, Vietnamese consumers bought a total of 1,043 Honda City units, a 62.9% increase compared to the previous month.

Honda City

With this achievement, the Honda model has entered the top 10 best-selling cars in the market in March, ranking fourth. This number brings the accumulated sales of Honda City since the beginning of the year to 2,165 units, closely following Hyundai Accent.

This result is probably due to the 100% down payment incentive program, plus a 30 million VND cash bonus for the G and L versions of Honda. For the highest-end RS version, customers will receive a 50% down payment fee and 1 year of body insurance. The total promotion value of this model in March is up to 89 million VND.

In April 2024, Honda City will only be discounted on the RS version with a 50% down payment fee and 1 year of body insurance. This may somewhat affect the car’s sales in April.

Honda City currently has 3 versions with prices ranging from 559 to 609 million VND. At this price, the City is one of the most expensive B-segment sedans. In return, the car has an eye-catching design and is equipped with the Honda Sensing active safety technology package as standard – something many competitors lack. Besides, Honda City is also highly appreciated by users for its interior space and driving experience.

Hyundai Accent: 967 units

Honda City’s impressive performance has caused Hyundai Accent to continue to be in second place in the segment. In March 2024, 967 Accent units were delivered to domestic consumers, an increase of 164.9%. In addition, the Korean model also made it into the top 10 best-selling cars of the month, ranking fifth, right after its rival, Honda City.

Hyundai Accent

In the first three months of this year, Hyundai Accent achieved sales of 2,248 units, still leading the B-segment sedan segment. However, if Honda City maintains its momentum, it is entirely possible to take this position from Hyundai Accent.

In April 2024, customers who buy Hyundai Accent can choose to enjoy 1 of 2 incentive packages. Package 1 is an interest rate on installment payment from 0% in 12 months (deferred principal up to 9 months, depending on the bank). Package 2 is financial support of up to 50% down payment fee.

Unlike Honda City and Toyota Vios, Hyundai Accent has not been upgraded in terms of design or equipment for a long time. However, this Korean model still sells well thanks to its beautiful design and reasonable price, ranging from 426.1 to 542.1 million VND for 4 versions.

Accent’s amenities are adequate with notable features such as an 8-inch entertainment screen, 6 speakers, automatic air conditioning, air vents for the rear seats, an intelligent rear trunk control system, automatic headlights, and remote start.

Under the hood of the Hyundai Accent is a 1.4L MPI Kappa gasoline engine, producing a maximum capacity of 100 horsepower and maximum torque of 132 Nm, combined with a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission.

Toyota Vios: 934 units

When it comes to vehicle models with the highest growth rate in March 2024, Toyota Vios cannot be ignored. In the past month, this model saw a sales increase of 449.4%, reaching 934 units. Despite having the highest growth in the segment, Toyota Vios still only ranks third in terms of sales, after Honda City and Hyundai Accent. In the top 10 best-selling cars in March 2024, Toyota Vios is ranked sixth.

Toyota Vios

The sudden growth of Vios is partly due to Toyota Vietnam’s price adjustment policy, applied from the beginning of March 2024. Accordingly, the current listed price of the “national car” ranges from 458 to 545 million VND instead of the old price of 479 to 592 million.

Like Honda City, Toyota Vios had a new version added in 2023. In this upgrade, the car has additional features such as LED headlights, daytime LED running lights, new 15-inch alloy wheels, sportier seats, a steering wheel with integrated paddle shifters, a larger 9-inch central touchscreen, support for smartphone connectivity, USB Type-C ports for the rear seats, 7 airbags, a pre-collision warning system (PCS), and a lane departure warning system (LDA).

The Toyota Vios engine remains the old 1.5L inline 4-cylinder gasoline engine, producing a maximum capacity of 107 horsepower and a maximum torque of 140 Nm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission or a CVT continuously variable transmission.

Mazda2: 453 units

The model ranked fourth in the B-segment sedan in terms of sales is Mazda2. In the past month, Mazda sold 453 Mazda2 units to Vietnamese consumers, an increase of 81.2%.

Mazda2

In March 2024, Mazda2 had a price after discount of only 420 million VND. The
